Question Hard Disk Navigation

I hope you guys can help.I have a 99 TL with the hard disk navigation system and i was getting an error message stating that the hard disk is unformated and i should consult my dealer. Well i did and the dealer told me that i need a new hard disk which would cost me a $1000 dollars which i honestly don't have right now so i did some searches in this forum and the other forum and was told by a few members that i should get a CallunaCard 520MB hard drive from e-bay.The good news is that i did. The problem was when i went to the dealer to have the software instaled on my new hard disk,he wasn't able to do it. He told me that his computer was giving him an error message saying that it couldn't read the disk. So he asked me to give him the original disk that came with the car which i did and he was able to download the latest version of the software on it but when we put it in the car,The suystem still said that the disk was unformated. Can someone help. what does the dealer have to do to read my brand new CallunaCard that is blank and to install the software on it cause they had no clue.I hope they're not messing with me cause i didn't get the disk from them.
thanks guys..

Is the new disjk formatted? In other words, can you use it as a second drive in a laptop and store data on it? I cant remember the format type that we need for the drives but do a search on this board. There was a guy that was offering to load images on calluna drives as he spent time collecting the entire regions for his collection. Really knowledgable about this stuff and very willing to help. If you do a search with the key word calluna, you are bound to run into his posts on the subjext.

Did you look at upgrading a Navi unit to DVD based?

There is info on my web site about how to convert to DVD.

Also if you have a disk that can't be reformatted and recognized by the navi unit email me or send PM. There are a couple of things that can prevent them from working and several have workarounds.
