Had my transmission update done
Well, I had my timing belt replaced on my TL and they did the oil jet update. Hopefully this will help and the transmission wasn't already affected by heat.

Hi BLEXV6! How many kilometers now? How’s the rest of the car holding up? Any other problems? I am at about 60K Km now, going to dealership this Friday, will see what happens, I’ll let you know. My car is doing fine so far, I haven’t noticed any transmission problems yet.

Timing belt should be changed every 100,000km (96000km in the service schedule). Did you get a notice about the oil jet update or did they do that for you after you made mention of it? I'm at 67,000km so I'm far far away before I need my timing belt changed. Don't look forward to the 72000 km service (that's gonna cost me!)

Canada = severe weather conditions ... in the Canadian user's manual -- we're supposed to get it changed every 100,000km. Don't know about US (even though I live 5 miles away from Detroit, MI).

There is also a recall for timing belt tensioner too. I'm not sure what years its good for though. Thats how I got my timing belt replaced and only had 35K on it. Might be worth checking it out with dealer.

I had that done last October on my 03 TL-S.

Even though the official recall does not include 4-speed autos/99 model year, *do you think the oil jet addition would still be of benefit?*
I know the four-speeds aren't as prone to tranny failure, but I also know of some guys with 99's here who have had complete failures and the same issues as the 5-speeds...

ok.... so I have two things to get done in my next meeting...
Oil jet update (I am on my second tranny... and its silky smooth so far 20,000+ kms.
Ask about timeing belt... I was waiting for the right time for this one... now that I am nearing 90K kms I'll check and see... this would be cool since normal schedule is to replace it at 100K ... so if I get it done under recall/TSB then I'll save some $$ for MORE MODS . The vibrations at idle through the steering and gas have increased over the last 10K kms... also the noticible "lunge" when the A/C comp kicks in and you are at the light, so I see what they do.
