H&R springs?

Just wondering if anyone has the H&R springs that only lower .75+.50? I was thinking about getting these to avoid rubbing problems with 18's. Also what is the cost to have springs installed and will the acura dealer do it?

I have the OE that drops only .75/.75. It's a nice little drop. I got the little drop because I didn't want to plow the snow here and rub when I get my 18"s. It's nice. I wish I can show you a pic, but my memory stick was stolen out of my digi cam so I have to wait on that.

Just curious, what is the date stamped on the springs? H&R date stamps each of their springs at the factory.

they would say month and year...like 8-99????anyway got pics...everyone with the O.E.s are a way different drop than yours and i called H&R yesterday they knew nothing of a design change...if there were anyway you could shine a flash light up at your springs and see the date ???its big print...you might need a rag to wipe them off...

It would be nice to see some pics. Also, how are measuring the drop? The best way is compare the difference in length between the middle of the outer fenderwell down to the Acura center cap on each wheel. That way, there wont be any inconsistancy in measurement between all four wheels due to unevenness of the ground, driveway, etc.

I'm not measuring them, I'm only refering to what the "spring" icon up above says. When I clicked on OE it stated .75/.75 If I'm wrong I'm sorry.

Looks great! Sorry to be picky but could you post one of the entire car from the side? Many listers have claimed that the H&R OE springs sag in the rear creating an uneven look -like the car is loaded with suitcases in the trunk.

Also, have you noticed any increase in stiffness compared to the stock springs when driving the car under everyday commuter conditions? How about when pushing some hard corners- do the progressive springs make a noticible difference over stock? Theses springs are supposed to be 10-15% stiffer.

I got mine (dated 7/98) last week and am hoping they will provide a stock ride under relaxed driving conditions and an increased perfromance feel when cornering hard.

Thanks.

I will post some after I get my CAI installed. The ride is a little stiffer, but not to where it's just "jarring". If you've ever driven a Bimmer, it's kind of like that. A stiff, yet sophisticated ride. With this spring you have less body roll through turns, less submarine effect when you brake or accel hard, and it just adds more fun through driving fast. If you've ever gone past 125 in a TL it's just scary. Doesn't feel planted, but with these springs it feels more surefooted and able to handle the speed. The chassis is stiff and nice, Acura just put sorry tires and suspension setup to help support the spectacular chassis. It's as fun as my 323ci, but roomier....

I have these springs also, and I'm surprised about the comments of a sag in the rear - if anything they have a slight forward rake to them.

My wife didn't notice a difference in ride qualilty on normal roads, but there is sure a difference in stability and cornering.

Best of all, they were an easy (if long) self install, and the alignment was easy, with no camber adjustors needed.

GREAT!! Just the answer I was looking for. I cant' wait to drive this baby with new springs and 225/45/17 Dunlop 9000 tires.

My only complaint is that brakes feel linear (greater amount of force on the brake pedal required for max stopping power) and apply somthing like 80%F/20%R adding to the submarine effect under hard braking. This is where your BMW definitley has the advantage.

I don't have my bimmer anymore, but I do miss it sometimes.
Get new brake pads after the OEM wears out. I heard the Axxis was nice...

Can anyone clear up the discrepancies between the drop amount for the H&R OE springs???
