I wish I had that confidence, I'm afraid that I'll break more things.
Anyway, good luck. Keep us post.

I'm interested to see someone actually do the 6 speed swap. There are always people who say they're going to do it but I don't think anyone has had the confidence, knowledge, or $ to do it yet. I guess you have to consider how well the vehicle runs and if you do the swap will it the vehicle last long enough to justify the costs and labor time.

Have you taken it apart? Also if you saw the insides of old "non-updated" tranny can you tell if there is any major difference?

How did they diagnose a bad torque converter. Did you have TCC slip codes? Even so - it's VERY rare for a TC to go bad. Normally it's something associated with the TCC engagement (i.e. solenoid or valve body).

Havent taken it apart, the only way you would see the differences is if you had the parts side by side. On the last rebuild i did see that a shaft and the plates seemed to be different.

It came up with a TC code. While driving you could see that it wasnt engauging properly.

Ive had a down right horrible week so the tranny decisions have been put on hold.

Those tires are about 1/2 inch wide max, so they will cut thru any snow, if not i got the mountain bike with mud tires!
