I'm hearing noises from my Comptech rear strut bar so I plan to replace the bushings with polyurethane ones made by Energy Suspension. They offer both a greaseable version and a non-greaseable version. Which one would be better to use? Does anyone know of any potential fitting issues? Anyone recommend one over the other? Are they better than the Comptech bushings?

i bought greasable just for my own sake; if it ever squeaked i could lube them and i have greasable endlinks anyway so i grease them all at the same time (~6months). it's up to you, if you don't get the greasable ones just make sure you put some teflon tape between the bar and the bushings.

I have the greasable ones as well. So easy to climb under the car and give them a squirt of grease when they stick.
Did you have any fitment issues with the greasable bushings? Were there any modifications necessary? I was looking on the 3rd gen TL side and they had problems installing the greasable version. The brackets had to be trimmed down and the washers had to be trimmed into a 'D' shape.

greaseable or not i think you will have to modify the bushing. you can test fit it first, but the mount on the chassis is not perfectly flat (on the front).. i didn't have much problems, it took maybe 5 min to modify them to fit.. on the rear... if you are upgrading i highly recommend larger/longer bolts..

Just what I was wondering. Problem is the Greasable Bushing D-Bracket holes/slots (at their narrowest point) are wider than the distance between the mounting holes in the sub-frame.
For me, on a 3G, it was a major pain in the ass to get 'em modded (dremeled and bent) to fit properly - the bolts kept wanting to cross-thread because of the slight angle.
There have also been a few 3G's where the sub-frame mounting bracket broke. In the couple of cases posted, they were both Comptech 22mm RSB with ES Greasable Bushings. I am not sure if the need to mod the bushing D-bracket was a contrubuting factor or not, but I took mine off and went with the bushings supplied with my Progress 24mm RSB (it's a smaller, non-greasable poly bushing).
ES does sell a non-greasble bushing where OE (3G) mounting holes are within the adjustment range of holes/slots in the D-Bracket for 22mm RSB (not sure on the 24mm bushing).
Marcus (Mr Heel Toe) has a posted that he carries an alternate poly bushing, but I don't recall the details.
Does anyone know if the mounting locations different for the 2G and the 3G TL? Rp_guy said it only took him a few minutes to modify the bushings to work while Bearcat said it was a major pain. I'm confused unless they are different mounting points, which would make sense why it is harder for the 3G when compared to the 2G.

I would guess that they are slightly different.Originally Posted by pavan87

Oh yeah I had to elongate the mounting holes a little to get them to fit. No biggie.

Actually, I am pretty sure (say 95%) that they are the same.Originally Posted by pavan87

IMO, it was a PITA. I'll admit I am not the most skillful "fabricator" ( ) around, but I found it to be much harder to get right than I expected.
Others maybe didn't have as much trouble, were more skilled, or didn't see that it was *too* much trouble for the payoff.

What is the easiest way to elongate the mounting holes? I don't have too many tools at my disposal.

I have Eibach swaybar kit on mine and they were squeaking a little bit after a while. I tried alot of grease to get rid of the noise. The thing thet worked best is Vaseline i have not touched them since i put that on many miles ago. Thanks, F1
