Got speeding ticket thrown out!!!
So I was going around 65 in a 45 and a cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket for going 20 over, and the courtdate was in a month, so I asked my co-worker what I should do, (I work at Mobil) and he said write yourself a fake recipt for speedometer calibration and show the judge that you paid like 150 to get your speedometer fixed, and he said he would write a note on the recipt that the speedometer was way off, and was around 20 over.........So I was real skeptical but gave it a try, I then went into court and tried it out, and the judge said I was free to go, and he asked me why my speedometer was off, and I told him I got into an accident a while ago and he completely let me off!!!! anyone try something like this??

hehe, seems pretty inventive, but I'd probably be too scared to try it. I would if I knew it would work! Me and judges typically do not get a long.... i've only been to traffic court twice. got off once, got slammed with $190 the next week.

I'm currently in the process of appealing $380, 8 points and a 60 day suspension. They're all scum around where I live, they don't want to hear your side of the story, they just want their money....bunch of as$holes on a power-trip.

I completely agree, although I would never try a stunt like that myself. Imagine if the judge found out it was a fake? That's like putting your head in a lion's mouth. :wow:

Damn the judge didnt ask what accident caused the speedometer probs and he also did not ask about the mechanic, I would think he would tell u to call the mechanic and get u a free calibration and get him sued or something LOL..
What'd u say to the cop when he pulled u over? did u say I didnt know i was going 65 or did u say yes officer.. Anyways You GOT BALLS For doin that ****.. I'd **** my pants if I got caught..

I did that several times before. I went to a calibration shop to have my car tested...turns out it wasn't off at all. So I asked the guy what he could do about that. Sure enough, he hooked me up for some $$$ after I told him I wasn't a cop. The most recent time I went in, they just wrote me up a receipt and told me to go down the road to a shop for a repair receipt. I took it in and the guy asked if it was broken or not. I said no, so he said $25 for the receipt...works like a charm

Alexxx: Just out of curiosity how do they get 8 points for doing 37 over the limit? I was just in court in MD and another guy there was clocked doing 97 in a 55. He only got 5 points but was fined $520. He told the judge he didn't care about the fine, he just couldn't afford the points (he already had 3 from another ticket two months prior). Judge said too bad, you're getting them. And he had already gone through driver improvement training once this year.
Anyway, what is the fine schedule in NY?

In California there are laws against SPEED TRAPS. I believe a Police officer must pace you and match your speed for atleast (100+ft <---something like that) before he can pull you over for speeding...
Radar guns cause more problems than prevent... I ve seen one fatal accident due to a motorcycle cop sitting in someone's driveway
