ok two cars fly past me, a eclipse with exhaust and a civic some what suped up, i get up withthe civic seeing what he got, and the eclipse got out of the way, two girls in there, they werent in a play mode, took the civic no prob, out of no were pulls up a little silver chevy caveleare, looks stock as they get pulls up next to me i drop and he drops and he is half a car length infront of me with no probs and pullin , im in third at this point going 80 on a 35mph street and loosing to this car, we come to a light and go at it again, he jumps off the line a car length on me then i slowly catch up but he keeps pulling........wow: can u see how confused i am at this points??: pull him over, comes to be he has a freakin supercharger that he installed him self at home on this car, he had it dynoed at 196hp at the wheels, nuts hu, so i drove home with my tail between my legs, now wondering if a stock looking festiva will smoke my TLS

 

dont worry about this, remember that in the end, you are driving a tl, he is in a cavalier. it is pretty embaressing though

 

No need to feel bad really. He beat you by his lighter weight. Would you feel bad if you got beaten by a go-kart with only 75 hp engine? It's all in the power-to-weight ratio.

he he, thanx for the support guys, i now found a group of ppl that street race out here, gonna go have some fun tonight, with my intake only mod, need to get the headers going, so i can show wazup with the TLS

 

I remember hearing that GM will be coming out with bolt on KITS for Cavilers / Sunfires / Grand AM's etc etc in the effort to compete with the imports.

These cars will probably be really fast considering the power to weight ratio.

nice man, I can't get the supercharger, so I got headers, AEM CAI, Comptech exhaust, AEM pulleys, and Venom 2000 nitrous system

I ran a 13.6 at 104MPH get some mods on!!!

 

Would love to but money is an issue rite now, but still even if i get headers, he will still take me with his supercharger up to about 80 then ill pull on him, with our cars, unless we get a supercharger or turbo we cant do much to get good lower end tourque,,

also the new mistubishi lancer is pushin 270hp and weighs almost 1k lighter then our cars, and all wheel drive, will be spanking eveyone on the road...

 

That just sucks.........I would never suspect a cav to beat a TLS......either way, he's still driving a chevy cavalier

 

I rented a cavalier while my TLS was in the shop... Let me just say that that car should not have been built. What a bigger piece of crapola. Sheesh... I would never waste my gas or money on that car... Me personally, would have let the freak race with the civic, and I would have stayed behind to see what the chickies were up to... :-)

 

Damn, not a Cavalier, huh? Well, like a lot of other peeps said, get the Supercharger and then race him again..he won't be so hot that time...Cavaliers are pieces of shiznit...I wouldn't waste my time with them.

 

i didnt want to run with him but when i saw him pulling on me with no probs i had to find out what was up, and SILETTO is right, i should of went with the girls, would of had more fun but a lesson learned, dont underestimate a cavelear or any small car for that sence, with a supercharger they will eat us up.....
