Talking Got Ronin Skills? Prove it!!!

If anyone is near Houston, there is going to be an auto cross event sponsored by the LSRPCA (Lone Star Region Porche Club of America) at the HPA (Houston Police Academy) parking lot on July 21 from 5pm till midnight.

If you are interested and want more details go here:

http://www.lsrpca.com/autocros.htm

They will have instructors on hand to show you the ropes if it is your first time at an AutoCross event. I plan on attending and there will be a handful of Camry/Solora guys there as well. All cars are welcome so don't feel like you have to own a Porsche to show up.

So all you guys claiming to have the mad driving skills, its time to put your steering wheel where your mouth is!

Ronin:

It's funny how many ppl don't know the actual meaning of the word. It is a Japanese word meaning the following:

1. a masterless samurai,
2. a jobless person, or
3. a high-school graduate who failed the college entrance exam.

Definition number 3 is the most common usage nowadays. Definition number 1 is usually used in the samurai movies in which a ronin is always depicted as a poor (no money) transient samurai-used-to-be's. They carry a sword that is made of bamboo because they have sold their metal swords for food, shelter, etc. Really... it doesn't mean what you guys think it means.

LOL, SilvrTL! I guess you never the movie "Ronin"?

The movie is basically one HUGE car chase, with a modded S4. "Ronin Skills" is used to refer to the driver of the S4 in the movie. If you have "Ronin Skills" you can drive the balls off of your car.

I guess its a more common saying amoung the AudiWorld people but I figured most people here would have seen the movie and knew what I was talking about. Hehehe, sorry for the confusion.

Well B-Nut I will clear up a few little errors for you before somebody else gets on your case.

They never had an S4 in the movie, but they did have an Audi S8 for one of the first scenes of the movie.... they were driving the sh*t out of it. They were chasing a Citrogen.

One other scene was with the older BMW M5... which still put out a nice 340 hp. I don't remember what DeNiro was driving.... but it was either a Renault or Peugeot.... can't remember.

Either way they had some pretty awesome car chase sequences.... with people driving the hell out of the cars... hence the term "Ronin Skills."
