<------Newbie......I just got my 2000 TL and I already ran into a problem. I got a diagnostic and it read me back P1129. My car was revin up to 2500 and back to idle on its own when i was stopped.

yeah--its prob. your idle control valve..i had the same problem, had it replaced under warranty.

 

I just did a google search and it came back with the fault being the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.

This will definitely affect not only the way the car idles, but also your gas mileage. if your gas mileage has gone down to shit, then most likely you need a new pressure sensor. Once replaced, your problems should vanish.

try calling or going to your dealer and ask what the code is

 

I had the same problem a few years back. It was the idle control valve like someone stated. The dealer replaced it under warranty.
