Talking Got my Comptech Sways installed today!!!

Finally got my Comptech Sways installed today at Park Ave Acura...bought the sways from good ole Tim at www.autocarparts.com

Man, those sways do make a difference...now I can take a corner alot harder and not feel it...now I gotta lower my car and get some performance tires!

Park Ave also resurfaced my rotors and got me new pads under warranty as well, my car has 16,500 miles on it. The car was vibrating everytime I braked... it feels alot better now..

With my Nitto 235/40/18 and Comptech Anti-Sway bars, I can't complain.... I very confused, the CLS handle like a dream now, no negative effects on firmness of the ride on bumps and potholes...

Acutally it feels more solid.....

Why?!! Why?!! I beg Acura to explain why the CL-S did not come with such bars....... and tires....

Worth each cent!

A question for all you guys with sways: I was told that sways only give better handling if you have lowering springs and shocks. Is this true? I have H&R race springs but only factory shocks. Thanks for any input guys.

I was there with him at PAA getting my oil change.

BTW, you wouldn't believe what they gave us as gifts. Ready for this...........a coloring book and some stick-on American flags for our cars. Now that's what I called customer service.:p

Usually sways would be the third stage when modifying a car's suspention. First being springs, and Second being shocks, since technically sways bars are meant to be a supplimental part to the existing suspention (some cars dont have sways, but all cars have springs & shocks). But...for some reason upgrading the sways for us seems to be the most noticible in reducing body roll. I personally get little to none when cornering tight turns, but then again some say my setup might be a little too exessive.

So if I decide to skip 2nd stage (shocks) and go directly to 3rd stage (sways), it should be OK, right? I will get better handling and nothing screwy will happen? Thanks.

Joey that's crazy as hell man...I got 16,400 miles on my car and the steering wheel has been shaking like a biotch...I was so pissed off, because I didnt want to take it to tha dealership...Well I took it in this morning and they had it ready for me at 11am...I was so surprised with the service...They resurfaced my rotors and replaced my brakes as well...The guy said that they have been having problems w/TL's around our age and it was all good...He threw me a free full service car wash too..I left very impressed; not that I would even use the car wash, but still that's weird how one person can totally f^ck up your experience at any dealership, but still all it takes is one to change your mind...Hey, they're not so bad after all...Shyne

patrick, are the race springs the ones that lower the car about 2 inches front and back? If so, they may wear out the stock shocks a little faster than normal, but don't worry about it too much. It should be fine, and handle great with your setup. You just might have to replace the factory shocks after 20K miles or so.

Thephatom: Thanks!

Beiruty: Don't u have spring? If u do...you'll see a bigger difference

Neil: Sure, name the place, time and date...

Patrick: You shouldn't have a problem with not having shocks, as a matter of fact...everyone who owns a set of Comptech Springs will eventually have their factory shocks wear out...sooner or later..but it will last awhile more then 20K miles..

Shyne: OMG!!! what a coinkey dink...

Jens: Thanks! OMG! You drive all the way from CT to work? I hope not...that's quite a commute...I love u guys at Park Ave! You guys are the greatest! Always get the best service and treatment from you guys! Also love the coloring book

Ben: haha!

I do not have springs, and I may never lower my CLS ( 235/40/18 tires and the snow that we have each year), the wheel gap is horrible on the CLS, and to my knowledge the springs will remove the gap and reduce the squat (nose dive) and front wheel hops...

Damn I missed you guys today, after 1.5 hour drive most of which I spent crawling along the Cross Bronx I got to PAA at about & pm to drop my car off. Hopefully they will be able to find the source of my suspension rattle.

I skipped the shocks...and have had the sways and springs for about 18months now....they make a huge difference....just make sure that they align everything when you get the springs done (other wise you most likely will get funny tire wear).

O...that reminds me...I saw a white CL-S today at Park Ave's parking lot with bald tires...

it's front bumper was kinda scratched too, it had no navi...damn first time I saw bald, and I mean bald tires on a new CL-S....Blackshadow can attest to this and probably anyone who works at Park Ave..

Joey stop forgetting to bring your camera. Especially today when we saw that white CL-S with BALD tires and scratched rims!

We also saw a few gorgeous BMWs (325,330,525,530,740iL,X5 4.4i)!

Oh and we saw the new noble green color and I don't like it. And for some reason the ABP on the TL-S looks better than the ABP on the CL-S. The eternal blue is not a bad color either.

And to top things off, we saw a brand new 2002 black TL with both headlights stolen. It was a very sad sight to see.

You guys may know this already but PAA will not have a fall meet. But there will be another spring one. Damn I can't wait!

PAA is the greatest!!!!!

Thanks for the info. Argh! I'm saving for a Mugen rear lip spoiler, but now I can't decide if I should change my decision and get sways instead. Decisions, decisions. Go for looks or performance? What a dilemma!

BTW, thx bdimc2001 for your input too!

Yup!! Saw it there...for a second I thought it was my car till I went closer and took a good look at it

I was like the guy just told me it was inside getting the pads done and then why is it sitting there? Then I looked and it was your car

Holy smokes! Like what time do you have to leave the house to get to work on time? 70 miles one way?!? That's unbelievable! You should look into getting a place closer to work.

That's what makes PAA the best because of their dedicated employees. Not to mentioned their customers.:p
