i parked in the school parking lot this morning, and proceeded to walk away when i see this huge ass 2000 GMC Savana turning towards my car trying to get through an opening a civic could barely fit through, next thing i heard was a huge scrape. the guy drove away, thinking he made the turn. fortunately, a lot of my classmates knew the person who drove the van/bus and the school admin filed a report and he agreed to settle it out of pocket. there were lots of scratches on my bumper anyways so im not pissed cuz this is an opportunity for me to get all of them out before i get my tint/other mods in a couple of weeks. so yes, i got hit and i'm not mad

how long does the bodyshop take to repaint the bumpers? i wanna know how long i'll be without a TL, as this is the most painful process

2. cracking/splitting of top of front bumper above license plate area

3.rear bumper (this morning)

4.front bumper (parking lot 1/08)

all will be gone soon!

 

When I got rear ended the body shop had my car for 3 days.

 

you have a reason to not get mad your car is old!!!!.....

I've got hit in my college and the guy ran away and I didn't get a chance to get his plate #'s...

All I've got is his cell # which he doesn't even pick up

Anyways, good luck with everything, it usually takes a good body shop about 2-3 days to repair that much damage.

damn that sucks, i had numerous witnesses, security cameras, and evidence on his car. there was no denying. but he turned out to be a nice guy unlike the guy who hit you. and we're in high school which makes things easier. hmm i really don't want a rental, all i want is my TL!! lol

 

well i decided to keep the front bumper as is and fix the rear bumper with the compensation money. driving my dad's 150hp accord to school right now, really miss my TL..

 

u know u can call the cops and tell them someone hit ur car, u have their # and they wont pick up. They will trace the # to the guys name and address. Hopefully it hasnt been too long

 

If I were you I'd get a new bumper of a scrapped TL. it's cheaper, and the other scratches aren't that bad.

 

Lol...i would take the money and get me a JDM front bumper but then again..just my opinion...

 

Sucks you got hit, but Im glad you were able to settle it without any trouble. I hate parking at my school, I've seen too many reckless driving. One time I was talking to my friend at the lot while waiting for the traffic to die down (only 1exit at our student lot ) and I hear tire skidding. I look over and this guy ruined his front bumber and headlights by driving into a parked car . Supposively he was trying to drift in a AT FWD civic

 

the cops here in nyc are dicks and aren't willing to help.

the accident happened on march 31st, so i dont know if it's too late or not, but when i went to the police station, they said they cant do nothing with the #, and they cant even call it a hit and run accident since I was able to get his #

 

there's always stupid people out there.. when i get my car back from the bodyshop, i'll be much more careful when i park.

 

Thats just fuckin lazy. All they had to do was call the cell phone provider & tell them they were calling about an accident and it was official police business. If a warrant was needed that coulda been made in about a week. Sorry man.

 

That sucks you got hit. Today my friend and I were walking to his car and the Mustang parked behind him pulled up so far his bumper was on my friends car. There was no damage to my friends car but the Mustang had a scrape.

 

This is why I park far far away from everyone wherever I go. My friends hate it cos they have to walk, but it's good exercise and worth it to not have any new scratches or dings on the ride. I have two dings from last year that need pulled from someones shopping cart rolling downhill at my car and no one was there to fess up to it.

 

my rear bumper got nailed twice from hit and runs, out of pocket both times. you got lucky

 

call your insurance carrier and your agent. see what they can do! don't ever rely on nyc cops, they get paid to sit there and do all the things a dead person will do!!! let me stop the cop bashing 'fore they look me up which they will do but not help you out!
