Thumbs up Got Dyno results!

Well, it appears that the VAFC only added 5 HP to the wheels but I'm very satisfied cuz if you look at the blue graph I was only getting about 155 or so HP all the way up to 5500 RPM the it spikes up to 199HP. We tuned the VAFC after 1 more run and the red graph shows that my HP is now on a steady increase.

MAX before VAFC (stock settings) 199.2 HP
185.9 lbs.

After tuning VAFC 204.1 HP
191.6 lbs.

We ran 21 dyno runs cuz they were trying to achieve like 210HP so they were tuning the shit out of my VAFC but we realized that 204HP was about it. Not bad if you ask me. They only charged me $160 for 21 dyno runs and tuning of my VAFC. I asked what my crank HP would be around and based on several factors they estimate my Crank HP at aroun high 270's.

Anyone know what stock TL puts out at the wheel and what the CL-S does?

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewP...217&p=36274255

Above is my dyno run graph. I didn't want to show all 21 runs so the first shows stock settings and the second shows best tuning.

Oh, I almost forgot. They told me to bring my car back with stock rims cuz they think that should give me about 6-8 HP to the wheel. Damn, I didn't know the 18's would effect the dyno runs. I'll give you guys update when I put on my 16's back on and I'll have dyno results with 16's before and after teh 75 shot! Yes, I finally decided to get that done!

Tell me about it, I though my engine was going to explode! I have to admit, it sounded good when it was in the higher RPM range.

Come to think of it, the graph kinda looks f*cked up. Someone in the CL forum brought up a good point. How the hell did I gain like 50 HP within 200RPM's.

Whoa, 21 runs. How are the people at Altered Atmosphere? Yeah, whats up with that dip and then jump? With out the graph those numbers sound awesome. Cant wait to see what it is with 16's. Hey, find some 14 or 15's and you definately hit 210

Nice job.

The guys there are cool as shit. I thought they were going to run like 4 to 6 max runs, but they kept insisting, "we can hit 210" and they were adjusting the fuel, changing the VTEC and finally came to an agreement "204 is about it". NP here.

Was that DynoRun.001 your only baseline dyno? It is seriously messed up. Looks like they let off the gas 4,400 and 5,600rpms. That might be why there is a huge dip and then it spikes up again.

DynoRun.003 looks perfectly fine though, but to be honest you only gained about 2hp from 5,800 to 6,500 rpms. The spike you see at 6,600rpm seems to be a quirk of the dyno before it hits the revlimiter. My dyno's did the same thing.

Unfortunately since the midrange rpm are completely skewed on the baselines run its impossible to tell what kinda gains you got there. Do you have some more graphs of the first couple of dyno runs that would show that rpm range?

Based off of your dyno's that is pretty disapointing. Did they have an A/F meter on their dyno? If not they were basically just playing trial and error when they "tuned" your VAFC. You need an A/F meter so you can gradually lean out the a/f ratio which is how you produce extra HP with the VAFC. Ideally you want to to tweak the a/f ratio and as you do, the HP curve should increase. That is how my shop explained the tuning process with a VAFC.

Yes, they had an a/f thingy. They ran 2 baseline runs and they both came out almost identical. Could my car have been f*cked up?

What I was told is unless you have h/i/e my settings won't be perfect. It may work but no guarantee as they told me that I would have to readjust when I get my 75 shot of NOS. I'd be more than glad to tell you what I have set to what.

On the dash rigt above the air vents that's on top of the AC/Heater controller. Remember, I have no NAVI.

Yeah I must say, that jump is seriously strange... I would say that with that 5 hp addition, you'd be right at 260 hp... ± a few. I believe CL Type S's dyno at 202-204 hp stock. And with headers 227-230 hp.

Anyways, I can't add much to what's already been said. Just check your other dyno's before tuning. It looks awful odd.

Its a small nifty looking computer that hooks into your car's ECU and has the ability to modify the fuel curve and VTEC engagement point.

That is really wierd if BOTH baseline dyno's looked like that. I would say either they did something on purpose on both baseline runs to make the graph look bad (which would be hard to do) or your car was seriously messed up!

Were you there when they did all your dynos?

I was there for all 21 runs. I almost went deaf. I never realized how loud our engines could scream. I don't think they let off the gas cuz I heard a steady upward peak. Also, they let off the gas when we were in the teens (run) cuz I wanted to see 4th gear. Our 4th sucks, 2000 -2001 that is. Yeah, I think my car was f*cked up. That would explain perhaps why I had a hard time with the ES300 at high speeds, maybe?
