Is this a good quote...???

I've been looking at used, but I thought I'd drop by my local Acura dealer tonight and see what they could do for me on a new model. They couldn't find an '02 with the specs I wanted, but said they could order an '03 with some wait.

'03 TL w/ NAV, blk/blk, dealer installed spoiler, wood steering wheel, wood shift knob...
= $32,265 + TTL

What did you guys pay for your '02 with similar specs? Think this is a good deal?

*I refuse to pay a premium for the "03". The damn thing is 99% identical to the '02, so therefore I am looking to pay only what others have paid for their identically equipped '02s.

Thanks guys.

BTW, I had a great experience with Hall Acura of Va Beach. Kevin Clarke is the man! He's really friendly, honest, and doesn't try ANY B.S. sales tactics on you. This is in sharp contrast to other Acura salespersons I've spoken with in the past. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy an Acura in the Va Beach area.

i can't believe they can't find a 02 blk/blk...but then again. the 02's are already finished with production. I'm sure one of those dealers around your area is getting one to your spec. just do a dealer trade. if you wait that long..that's special order...which i shouldv'e done... also..that price is kinda...high. but then again..your getting all those options. I got mine for around $35,900 OTD with underbody

That price isn't bad but you should try a little lower. I don't know how much they're gonna want to play with a '03 though. ElegantTL, you got your's for 35,900?! Isn't that high even with the body kit? I got mine in June for 30,000. Granted, no body kit and Navi, but damn! I thought Navi's were $2000. But, then again with the labor on the body kit, I guess it's close enough. As long as you're as happy with your ride as I am.

So was mine!!
I had 3 different dealers going back and forth for 4 days. I think the guy I finally bought from was just sick of me! At first, each told me they couldn't do alot because the car was pretty new. But I had a brother-in-law who wanted to buy the same car (eventually he didn't), and that was enough to increase my buying power! Good Luck JPritch!

you got your car for 30k out the door? damn dood, how'd u pull that off?

oh wait, y ou live in virginia...hheeh how are the taxes over in the east coast? ours over here is 8% + 2% license/tax crap

got mine for 29,800 + tax/license

as for ElegantTL, he could've gotten a lower price if he didn't want the white so badly...hehe, cuz the price he has is 1000k over invoice, still not bad....i would've tried to haggle them down lower.

I got mine for maybe around 900 above invoice price...always try to aim low! hahahha lowball em and haggle with other dealers..

You gotta remember that right now the '02s are far and few between. There may be a few left in transit, but the majority of new arrivals should be '03s. Also, go look at the lots, and if they're anything like what I've been seeing, you'll notice that they don't have more than 6 to 8 TL's (all configurations total). My local dealer has 7 right now, 3 Type-S w/o Navi (two WDP, one NBP), 3 Premiums w/o Navi (2 NBP, 1 other), and 1 Premium w/Navi (SSM). That's a big contrast from a year ago when they had a dozen or more '01s, and an even bigger contrast from the summer when they had 15+ '02s. Dealer stock is low, so they won't be willing to cut the big deals they were willing to last year because they don't have as many cars rolling in. I'd say that anytime you're under Edmunds TMV you're doing really good, especially due to the current dealer inventory drought. I just don't see you getting within' $1000 of invoice, it really depends on how many cars your dealer has....

Last week I got a quote up here in northern Virginia for an '02 TLS Non-Nav for $29,900 plus tax, tags and title.

Hope this helps. Talk to Lenny at Pohanka Acura, he is the GM, skip the sales guys.
