good price..... I think

Hey guys, I was thinking about trading in my 99 for a newer car. And I came upon an 03 TL-S with 104,000 miles, very very very clean looking. The price is 14,500, and i'm almost positive he'll go lower (small dealership, small town) So is that a pretty good price. Oh I also asked about the tranny, cause I have heard of some tranny problems for the newer models and he said something about, "they fixed that problem in the 03 models" What do you guys think.

They didn't fix the problem with the 03's. The technical response I think you'll get is that only some of the 03's are covered but most if not all may have an issue with the transmission. My advice would be to find one with lower miles. Also with that many miles I wouldn't pay more then 10k for it and that's pushing it.

Its over 100,000 miles so the warranty extention on the tranny is over. some members sell their rides after or close to 100,000 because its a concern for them. People seem to have less failures with the 99 4sp tranny. If I were you and had a 99 4sp I would just stick with it or go for a 04.

Its not a guarantee you tranny will die but I would get him down to 12k. You can get one with half that mileage for 15k

Don't waste the 14K or 12K on an 03. Use the money as a down payment on an 04 or lease a new one. I own an 02TLS with 55K.

Well, it seems like I should either talk the guy down a lot more, or just move on to something else. I really thought it was a good price, and it just looked so clean. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

well thats what i get for dealing with a dealership. but the car is fully loaded every possible option, I bought the extended warranty too, thats why it was more. atleast i have the peace of mind if something goes wrong i wont have to pay additional.

I bought my 2000 TL with 85K miles back in april for 11 grand. Although it came with an extanted warrertny. The guy also had a 150 point inspection at acura so I knew it was running well.
