good kill and bad decision

I went to Boynton Beach this weekend and to say the least, it was most interesting...
I left Jax on Friday night at 11pm to meet my friend and was rolling down 95s about 25 miles north of Ft. Pierce at about 85mph on cruise...
There was a Passat with a dealer tag in the right lane going about 75mph...I signaled and moved into the left lane (there were no other cars around at all (it was now about 1:30am) and this a$$ pulls into the left lane to keep me from passing...I eased off the gas and sat a minute, then signaled and moved into the right lane and the s/o/b goes in front of me again...We are now going about 70mph and I notice there are two guys in the car and it is a W8...I dropped into s/s and 3rd and popped the front end a couple of times and that is what he wanted...He got over into the left lane and we got side by side...As you can see from my sig, I have mods--and they worked as I wasted his a$$ when he stopped at 130mph...When I say wasted, I mean 5 or 6 car lengths steady pulling...We slowed again to about 85mph and he got beside me again--I was running in 4th and he popped and punched it again...The car refused to downshift on the s/s to 3rd at 85 and I immediately lost ground sitting in fourth but at 105mph I was all over him and steady pulling away...We slowed again because of some semi's and got into 75mph and he stayed ahead of me...When back in 3rd, I stayed behind him just to let him no he had no chance in h=ll at leaving me and rode up to 125mph periodically popping my front end to let him no I had more--way more...
We both stopped in Ft. Pierce and talked...This guy was all pi$$ed off as VW sent his dealer this car to market for these reasons and they had it stickered at over $40k (ugh!)...

I then stopped again to pee at a rest area near West Palm and left my sunroof open...When I came back, some a$$hole had reached in and taken my Passport from the windshield next to the sun visor...What the h=ll was I thinking leaving the freakin' roof open at a rest stop?
Oh well...I put my Uniden in for now that I had laying around since 1987! It was in my first car. Believe it or not, the thing worked just fine and picked up the fuzz twice from over a mile away...Go figure...

Just to let you know... whenever you are riding 4th over 80 miles an hour and you wish to put a smile on your face: shift into SS mode, and just before downshifting to third, lift the foot off the gas, do the shift and then floor your whip. This technique should provide a boost of adrenaline all the way to about 105 mph. (play it safe and shift at 100). :wow:

Good Kill!!!!!

Yeah when you going to drop it into 3rd take your foot off the gas for a second and let it catch. If you hit the gas to fast it wont shift. I noticed you get a lot more pull if you shift right before redline in 3rd. Hold it til it hits 6900 (about 110) You will feel a huge difference than shifting at 6500 (about 105). Those 5 mph difference when shifting is key.

Yeah, I wish somebody had told me about that when I was at the tracks. Just that 5mph difference made me lose to this turbocharged Civic Si. I shifted into 4th earlier than I had to. Result: He beat me by 0.3 secs.! Argghhh

You can downshift to 3rd as long as you are going LESS than 85MPH. I usually downshift right between 80-85 when going on a run.
