Going to the track, need some suggestions

Wassup guyz,

I'm heading down to the track this weekend with my stock A-Spec. I was wondering what things I should do prior to going there? Should I use any octane booster? Should I decrease the pressure in the tires when i get there to allow me to grip a lot better off the launch????

Keep in mind that the car is 100% stock, except for my airbox resonator being removed.

Thanks

ya that's what I was thinking. I think I will just fill the tank up with the gas I usually use (Shell, 91 optimax), and throw in a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner b4 I head out. That way my system is nice and clean by the time I get down there.

I will leave my tires the way they are also...

thanks njtls...

no AC, turn off VSA, gate shift or SS, break torque ( hold the brake down and lightly hit the gas til you hit 2k 2.5k rpm ). When the light turns green let go of the brake and smash the gas...

Have fun..

agreed with Mr and njtls. run it like you would on the street. that way you know what you run while on the street. after a few runs or down the road then lower psi and other stuff to see how much better you can get your times

Our cars has a fuel cut-off feature..so even if you did redline it, it won't damage it. Now I'm not saying redline everytime, but as long as you keep outta the red, s'all good.

Its a car..drive it!

Hey sc354 please post your times I have an A-Spec and was wondering what times I would get on the track. Curious if Aero package would help cut thru the air better than the regular 03' TLS

sorry boyz

Couldn't go to the track today, it's pouring rain. I called them up since they are like 100km away, just in case it wasn't raining over there, but unfortunately the woman was like "we are re-opening next saturday". So I was SOL.

Oh well, I'll head out next weekend, and by then hopefully I should have brand new brakes and tires on the car.

well atleast I have some good news. I'm ordering my new tires this evening. I decided to go with the Toyo T1S tires, cause I've heard they are one of the best.

I got an awesome deal on them, so hopefully I will have them mounted for the next time I go to the track.

later guyz.

BTW if anyone has experience with the toyo t1s tires, let me know how you like them..

thanks
