Cool Going to Japan in April...

Guys,

I am going to be going to Hong Kong and then Japan next year in March/April. I was wondering if you guys know where are some good places to check out car parts and stuff. I went there last year and was in Tokyo but didnt know my way around so I didnt get to see many car places. The only place was the Toyota Building that had like 3 floors of cars (saw that altezza and aristo there )

So, my questions is where can I go to get some INSPIRE parts and stuff.

Oh yea, my itinary is open right now so I can pretty much fly anywhere in Japan. The only thing I have to do while I am there is go to Disney in Japan (girlfriend's request) but the rest of the trip in Japan is fair game.

Thanks!

PhiTL,

I'm going to Asia this Christmas as well. The only place is I know of is in Hong Kong, in the Monk Kwok district. That's where you can get car part's for dirt cheap as well as other things such as clothing, cd's and electronics.
I'll message you with a address there when I get back or if you don't here from me email me or PM me.

Yeah I am pretty familiar with Hong Kong and where to get stuff. Mong Kwok is a pretty cool place, you see all the hooked up cars there.

I'm trying to find some places in Japan to get some stuff.

Yeh let me know too if u can bring back some stuff. I want the INSPIRE letters for my car. WHAt is the blaze grill, will it fit the cl-s and check out if they have anything cool for the cl-s. I know they dont make the car over there and the car is actually exported from usa to there, but if anything is different, can u post it so we can see if it looks cooler and then get it for us. Christmas is in like 15 days, when are u leaving and can u let me know via email if u can at least pick up those INSpire letter for me, i can send u a check or mney whereerver u are. THanks.

Ok, I just want to make something clear, I'll try to get as many connections as I can and maybe bring some stuff back.

But since Tim has this awesome sight and he's been good as a supplier, I dont want to step on any toes. So, if he sells it or can sell it, I am not going to attempt to purchase any of those items.

Also, I dont want to get anyone's hopes up of getting parts and not being able to follow though.

PhilTL,

Have fun in Japan. I wouldn't be too excited yet about the deals in Japan. Remember you'll have to declare them when you leave and I seem to remember someone saying that the taxes you pay pretty much eat up most of the "good deal" you'll get buying direct.

Good luck though.

Yeah, thats why I am not trying to make this a business trip and make any kind of money off of this. My main objective is to get some of those hard to find things that are not available in the US market.

yeah...taxes suck.

That sounds great. Fortunately, my friend is going back to Japan to see her family and she is going to hook me up with the Inspire Taillights. I'm really excited, but I have to wait until january 15th before I can get them.

I wish I could go so I can get everything that I want, and also try to find those things that are never going to be in the US. It's all good, bc I am saving good money on those lights.

If anyone wants something from Japan that is kinda small, then I can ask my friend to bring it back as well. The item has to be small though. Drop me a line if you are interested.

I will be in HK at Jan. too. Of cause I will go to Japan to visit my friends and family. Don't put too much hope for getting parts in Japan since Honda in Japan is not a favorite brand for most people. I suggest you to save more to hire taxi to drive you around. Since that is very expensive.

For those who are going to HK or Japan. Don't forget to get a test drive of the GT-R.

You need an international driver's license of coruse. I think you will also need to kinda of dress up... pretending that you are a manager working at a international firm in Japan or crap like that... They will let you drive the car, trust me. If you know how to talk. I am not sure about HK thought. They do have lots of GT-R, Subaru WRX, and Lancer EVO VI. But you can't really test drive those in HK I think.

Keep in mind that 180Km/h is as fast as you can go with the speed limiter in Japan...
If you need more info about the Nissan dealer in Japan... I will ask my frined... and see which deal he want to and gave him the test drive of GT-R, WRX, EVO and the new RX-7. They are all different dealers but they are not that far from each other...

If you need help with the subway in Japan, or HK... I can ask my friend, too. But don't put high hope on it.

I was just in Japan this summer, and I realized that thee aren't many parts out for the tl in Japan. Your best bet is to go to a Honda dealership in Japan. Thats where I bought my inspire taillights. Theres alot more dealer accesories for the tl in Japan.

thanks for your responses, the last time I went to Japan there were very, very few Hondas. Mostly Nissans and such.

But I will definately try to test drive some of those supercars out there, awesome idea, crazy why I didnt think of it myself. DOH!

SL1200MK4 - If you could tell me what area your friend saw that dealerships, that would be great.

Yeah its going to be VERY tough or impossible to test drive those cars in HK.

I woulnt get my hopes up on getting parts for my car but, its worth a try.

Have fun!

It's pretty expensive in Japan. Trust me, you are going to use tons of $$ on transportation.

Tokyo Disneyland? You know what's funny is that it's not in Tokyo... but it's in the prefecture next to Tokyo, called Chiba! And if you've been to the Disneylands here (America), I will promise you, you'll be disappointed! It's friggin small!

Well, actually the Disneyland in Japan is not small at all... You won't be disappointed! BTW every employee in Disneyland speaks English, so you will feel very comfortable and not having too much trouble finding your way out there.

I asked my friend about those dealers he went to, but he havn't reply my E-mail yet! But I will let you guys know. When I got some infomation. Myself can't understand Japanese, so I can't check their Japanese website for you. Otherwise you can just E-mail the dealer in Tokyo or nearby cities. Make sure that they got the car there and make sure that they will let you drive it.

WTF!? When did the Disneyland employees become so well-educated!? *lol* Even if a few of them did speak English, it'll be hella broken, tho.

To SLVR TL:

Sorry, I should rephrase it. Not EVERYONE!!!

Of course those people who pickup the garbage or inside the Mickymouse don't speak English, but those who are at infomation center, or those who just walk around and see whoever need help, they sure speak English. Hm... when was the last time that I was there in Japan... Man that was a long long long time ago...
