avoid deer on the interstates...

have had no problems with this car. its at 101000 miles. Keep your fluids in check and changed at scheduled intervals. I'm still on the original tranny.

80k on a isnt much, I guess your shocks will probably start to be showing some wear by now (mine are and i have 72k), of course trannies are always something to watch for with our cars, 100k is time for some serious maintenance.

Also If you havent done it recently or at all its always a good idea to seafoam the motor, you can find out how to do that with the search.

watch out for everyone.

ALso, consider changing your sparkplugs at any time now, especially if you're capable of doing it yourself. (i just think 105,000 is too long). And, start saving for a timingbelt job at 105,000...

My car's a 2000 and it has 79,500 miles. Anyways, you can replace the spark plugs with NGK Iridiums. They work great and aren't very hard to replace at all. I replaced mine about 2500 miles ago and it only took me about 30 minutes. The only one that I had trouble with was the last one on the rear passenger side. Not much room for your ratchet in there. The other 5 were very easy. Pay attention to your transmission. Mine started to go at 73-74K miles. The common failure symptoms went from occasional to quite frequent. Take note of any slippage, irregular upshifting or downshifting, delayed gear engagement, etc. Take it in just to be on the safe side. You might get a nice new transmission. Other than that, save up for the 105K mile service.

I paid about $950 for one at a dealership. Timing belt, tensioners, all other belts, water pump (and a loaner car).

note- its easy to change the rear plugs with a 9 inch extension on the socket/ratchet
You can make one from a 6 and 3 inch extensions put together for those with just basic tool kit. It is a simple job and will yield better mileage and performance.
Good to do anytime after 60k miles
NGK Iridium used by many ziners

What should you look for?
Another 80,000 miles
I had 144,000 on my '01 CL-S when I traded it, and other than normal maintenance at 100k, had never even replaced a light bulb.
Suspension was as tight as new. The tranny was failing as I traded it (the dealer didn't notice as they never drove it off the lot..heh!,heh!)
