Glad to be back with Acura
I was once a proud and loyal Acura owner of a very rare 5spd Legend sedan. After 200,000 miles, I had every intention of buying a 1st generation TL, but after the test drive, I was extremely disappointed. The TL was smaller, not as luxurious, and did not handle as well as the Legend. I also believe that the Legend was one of the sexiest and most aggressive designs to date. The TL styling was a little plain. As with many Legend owners, I had given up on Acura after that. I ended up buying an Infiniti I30.
As the years passed, I noticed that the Acuras and Hondas started to resemble each other. There wasn't much distinction between the lines, which pushed me even further away from Acura.
Last month I had my heart and mind set on buying a 2000 Lexus GS300/400. When I went to test drive the GS at a local dealership, there was a 2000 TL (full body kit and spoiler) that caught my eye. I test drove the TL immediately after the GS and the rest is history. The TL was quicker and better handling but not quite as smooth or quiet as the Lexus but very close. The more I drove the TL the more I liked it. It reminded me a lot of my Legend. I bought the TL immediately after the testdrive. It was a no-brainer, especially since the TL was over $8k cheaper. There is absolutely no car that can compete with the TL in quality, utility, sportiness, and value in its price class.....bar none.
The more I drive my TL, the more I fall in love with it. I am a proud, loyal, and very happy Acura owner once again.
