Anyone Swap the tranny and engine from the CL?????

Im thinking about swapping the Type-S motor, ECU, Harness and the 6-speed Tranny into my TL. Has anyone done it? Anyone know where I can get a J-spec type S motor for a decent price?

There is no Jspec motor for the TL the TL is made in america including the Japanses version. We use the J32. I don't know if the CL motor will fit the TL especially if you are doing the tranny swap.

yeah...their the same....you said in the first post "jspec types" engine....and the guy was jsut saying it doesnt exist...cause the TL is an american car....if you could find an engine from a wrecked car it'd be doable i suppose...but you need to facilitate a handbrake, clutch pedal, change out the whole vsa system (sensors ect)...would need a new ecu...and im sure their are a bunch of minor details that were both over looking...not and easy task..might be easier to find a CLS with rearend damage and graft the back of a TL on their

has any TL-S owner actually swapped in a CL-S 6spd. tranny yet?

If not, i'm just wondering, is it a REAL big hassle to get into?

I kno one of the guys on my other forums (www.v6performance.net) swapped in a CL-S 6spd. tranny on his 6th gen. Accord V6 and it was quite a procedure..

but wil it be as difficult to do the same to a TL-S?

any thing is do able! the big thing is how much your willing to do to help keep the cost down. the engine and tranny will fit. you may need to get differend motor mounts. the hardest part woule be the clutch pedal and the wiring thats different.
