Hey all,
I did a search but I can't find the answer I was looking for.
Anyhow, I plan to keep my car for a long time and I am thinking of getting an extended warranty for my 2002 TLS. I would like to find out if anyone have bought one before and how much does it cost ?
Also, I would like to know what is your experience with the dealer when you use your extended warranty to repair your vehicle.
Thanks in advance.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Cheers !!!

Most extended warranties hover between $1,000 and $1,600...You've had your car for awhile so it would likely move to the latter since it is used, and they likely carry larger deductibles as well. I know people are freaked over transmissions, brakes, etc., but IMuHO, on a car like this, it really doesn't make a lot of sense considering the cost/benefit ratio...

i just bought a 2000 tl and got a 100k bumper to bumper ext. warr. from a honda dealer for $1400 actual acura factory warr. all you nedd to do is put 10% down and $78 a month for 18 months intrest free. you do need your vin# so they can check your car for whatever reason. mine has 47,800 miles. just ask at a dealer acura or honda. i did buy my car through a used car lot and was offered the 100k warr. so called bumper to bumper for $2000 but after reviewing the contract CAREFULLY there were alot of things not covered including the nav system! RIP OFF if you ask me. good luck though.

Appreciate the reply. ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Dave: $1400 actually is not too bad for 100k bumper to bumper. Do you have to pay any deductable ?
I have an appointment next week with the dealer to get my break and center arm rest fixed and I will definetely ask them for a quote.

You are able to purchase and extended warranty up to your allotted mileage/year amount.. or 50,000/4years. As long as you get the warranty before the 4 years or 50K miles are up, then you're fine.. and the average cost is about $1,200. That's why whenever you buy a new car, dont get the extended warranty in the beginning, because why pay an extra $20 in your payment a month?? If you only plan on keeping the car for 4 years or less, no point in getting it.. but you always have that option

I got mine at 48K miles for a little over 1000.00. Went to local dealership and they tried to sell me a clownish local warranty for 1500.00. I asked if I could get an Acura warranty and they said no such thing existed. I did some searching and found a post where someone bought an Acura warranty from a dealership in NY and so I called and got ahold of the guy, told him I wanted the warranty, gave him my VIN, quoted the price that I read in the post and gave my CC# over the phone. This warranty is not bumper to bumper (contrary to popular belief) since it doesn't cover things like molding, weather stripping, etc. But it is the best and backed by Acura so I get genuine acura parts for replacement AND it comes up in the acura computers as under warranty, no prooving anything. E-mail me and I can get you the Phone # and the man's name.
