Gettin Windows Tinted
Gettin Windows Tinted
I have a 99 Acura TL and am gonna get my windows tinted. I have seen some cars around my area and some tint shops say their tint has trouble sticking to Acuras REAR windows, because of those little rubber or platic circles that are ocated at the top of the rear window and come down the window a good 3 to 4 inchs. so im afraid it might have a bunch of lil bubbles all over. Do you know if u can scrape them off, or what they are there for? are they just for transitioning from the outside of the window that is STRAIGHT black to the clear, so its looks clean? or is it part of the rear defroster? ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED
THANKS

Find a good tint shop. The first tint I had on my car, the dot matrix wasn't horrible looking, but it wasn't too clean either. I just got my windows retinted yesterday using Llumar at a very established shop, and they did an excellent job. The dot matrix area is very clean looking now and uniform.
I got mine done with Llumar too. The back window looks great!
BTW, the shop that I had mine done at also has a clear Llumar film that goes on the front windshield...it is supposed to be 100% clear, has 100% UV rejection, and 98% heat rejection! I thought about having it done, but they did not have the time to do it...it would've cost $70 just for the front windshield.
Has anyone seen/had this done? How well does it work?

Ive seen it. It works pretty well, but ive also seen it leave a cloudy look on the front windsheild. I guess it depends on how good the shop is. By the way, can anyone reccomend a good tint shop in the miami/south florida area. Thanks.
