yes yes, the time has finally come, no more Acura 4x4 at the Dark DJ residence

I also installed the iRotors w/ EBC Greenstuff pads.

My friends and I installed the springs w/ some type-s struts. I noticed though, there is a popping sound coming from the right assembly. could it be the shocks? thanks guys!

More than likely something is loose. Sometimes the springs re-seat them selves after driving for a bit, wich may mean one the bolts (maybe the top ones) is loose. Happened on mine and on a friends WRX.

the ride isnt too bad, i like it, i feel that i am in control and the steering is a little more precise. I still need to figure out what is causing that popping sound. other than that its perfect. Need to get used to slowing down for dips, but ive gotten pretty good at not scraping on driveways. So Corey, when you tinting your windows? :fingerfawk:

I helped install them, two other guys were with me. They had done this before, and it was a good learning experience for me. i know someone on the board's back seat got ripped, and i was thinking, how did that happen? to remove the back seet only takes two bolts so its not that difficult. My rims arent that clean, we'll see how these EBC's live up to the promise of less brake dust. I just use regular car wash to wash the rims, thats all. All in all the installation wasn't that difficult, well atleast he made it look easy, but really just time consuming. And it helps if you have a lift LOL. Rotors n Pads installation was straight forward as well.

We will probably take apart the front passenger side suspension assembly tomorrow to pinpoint the problem, i thought it was the spring trying to seat, but now it seems like its more part of the strut. it is more apparent at lower speeds, and the popping is almost non-existent on the freeway.

The pads take a while to "bed" and there seems to be quite a bit of brake dust right now, but i think after the "breaking in" procedure is complete, it should be a good combo. I will keep everyone posted though.

I have to go outside to check my rotors and the directions of the slots but I THINK your rotors are on the wrong side? Aren't the slots supposed to be running with the rotation of the wheel? I'm probably wrong but I just thought it looked different.

I agree with Goldendragon. Your slots on your rotors are venting heat towards the hub, not away. Your rotors are on the wrong sides of the car. Not a really big deal, but I would change them around 1st chance in order to help with heat / gas removal. You don't want to warp those good quality rotors that you have.

im thinking jus tape newspaper all around the calipers to protect the body, brakes, etc. and spray away. Shouldnt be too complicated

Damn dude looks great!!!! nice balanced drop. its about damn time ehehehehhe

it looks pretty low so dont forget to get an alignment right away and make sure you get a print out of the camber specs, so you know exactly where you stand...

Yeah dude lemmie know how those pads hold up... Cant wait to get a set if they are worth it!!!

congrats dude!!!!

thankz guys! i plan on getting an alignment soon, and the car will go back up on the lift tomorrow morning to see if we can isolate that rattling coming from the passenger side. I will look into the direction of the slots as well, while its up there. The brakes are breaking in slowly, hopefully within a few days they should be fully "bedded". Im not sure what the proper "bed-in" procedure is, but im not braking aggressively. If anyone has any tips for breaking in the new pads & rotors do tell!

What the fvck? Your front looks lower than mine and we have virtually the same setup.

Either way, it looks great, man. Now get some wheels and tires.

the front is probably lower because my engine is blown by ULEV :P
therefor resulting in a heavier front end

I just looked at my rotors and mine are facing the opposite direction from yours. Who installed your brakes? The dealer installed mine so I trust they would at least know what they are doing, but then again, it's the dealer we're talking about.

Sounds like the problem is coming from your head. Heres how you fix it:

First: drill a large hole in the side of your head

Second: allow the demons to escape your soul, through the hole. Since no longer in a host, the demons will be exiled back to hell.

Third: using bondo, patch hole in your head and paint to match.
Your body should now be cleansed of Satan.

Note: In some cases, death may occur after first step.

I dunno dude, the only sound i can think of that you could be hearing would be the spring moving around on the (forget what its called) foot of the strut... I had that problem too, the lower lip of the spring was rubbing aginst the notch on the foot, so i had to space it out a little bit... Am i making any sense or does anyone know what the hell im talking about???
