I bought my TL used and all I could afford was a 2G. However the 3G TL is absoutely amazing. I think its such a great looking car with so many standard options for a good price. Also they trannys that work. However thought my 2G TL is also a great car and I still love it.

I had a 2nd and now a 3rd. I love the 3rd, but miss my 2nd- it was a great car. I love the 3rd more because of the hands free phone and the Navi. I wish I could keep them both.

I like my 2nd Gen over my 3rd Gen. What I like about my 3rd Gen is the interior thats about it.

there is something about the look of the 2nd gen. its more lux looking, long and sleek. but the features etc of the 3rd are way better. the 3rd gen is sporty and edgy. it was a bit too flashy at the time. i like the sleeper, civil look of the 2nd gen. i could have bought either, but i have always wanted a 2nd gen type s since it came out. now that i satisfied that, ill upgrade to a 3rd gen or an RL in 2 years.

the only thing i like about the 3rd gen is the interior...if they were to use the 2nd gen body with an upgraded interior like the 3rd gen's it would b one hell of car...2nd gen jus look smoother and sportier...and also more agressive in the front

I like the g2 seating in the type S but as far as overall looks. Its gotta be the Gen3 with the a-spec kit. That look dropped 1" sitting on 19$, you couldnt do that with a gen2.

I wonder if they will move to the SH-AWD system that they have in the RL and now the MDX. I like my 2G TL-S with Navi, but really like the exterior of the 3G TL-S.

I'm torn between the 2nd and 3rd gen. I love the body style of the 2nd, but I also like the styling of the 3rd. Plus bluetooth, iPod hookup, updated nav, the interior is nicer, I could go on...

Oh yeah, MT is nice too!

I guess I would have to say 3rd. Even though I love my 2nd gen.

If I had to take a guess I would say thats what they are going to do. They are kind of doing what audi did. Audis only have FWD and AWD (correct me if im wrong). Or at least most model Audis are that way. I think maybe AWD will probably be an option next year on the TL.

My brother in law has a 3rd gen, and the only thing i envy him over is the hands free phone and nicer interior, other than that i think the 2nd gen is way sexier (maybe cuz it grew on me). If you look at any of the better second gens on this forum, they beat any of the better 3rd gens hands down....IMO of course

This won't be popular but...

I loved my 1st Gen. That car was long and sleek and it was just solid as a rock. It was the most wonderful riding car ever. It rode better than my 2nd Gen. Don't get me wrong, I love the 2nd Gen Type S that I have now also. The look is a little more elegant and the interior is way better (but it should have been. My car was 11 years old when I wrecked it) The power is not even in the same league from 1st Gen to 2nd Gen, but for a solid car, you couldn't ask for anything better than the Original TL . I was never a huge fan of the 3rd Gen, It is a beautiful car, but there is something about it that doesn't do it for me. I have driven plenty of 3rd Gens to formulate my OPINION. The interior while awesome doesn't seem to stand up well. EVERY used one that I have seen, looks really beat up on the inside. My 2nd Gen looks Elegant and Palatial by comparison.

I like the second gen lines better. The third gen has a nice interior though...and a much better engine. and comes in manual.

If the 2nd Gen offered a 6 speed tranny I would vote 2nd Gen. Otherwise I say 3rd Gen is better.

We had an 02 Type S and now an 05 TL and 06 TSX...I definitely love the third gen so much more than the second gen (second gen is a super nice car, but the transmission and interior not as nice)
