Gauges stopped working

I put some indiglo gauges in my 00 tl about a year ago. Everything has been pretty good, except for a littlle stickiness in the fuel needle. Well a couple of weeks ago the gauges started flickering. They will either be completely off, or completely on. Sometime they goff off, or come on just sitting at a light. All three of them. I have tried moving wires thinking there was a loos econnection but no luck. The power and ground is working because the light on the the switch is working. Since it is all three lights, I am thinking that the power inverter is bad. Any ideas? They have been completely off now for about three days. What would I see on a multimeter if I tried to measure the voltage?

Should I just order a whole new set, and try replacing just the power inverter?

Suggestion?

sounds like your on the right track with the inverter. should see 12v going in and on the other side? something . does it have a dimmer? did you try messing with it, maybe dirty contacts?

Yes, it does have a dimmer. That is where there is a light so I know it has power. Dirty contacts where? in the dimmer?

yea, maybe? electronics use brass contacs that can get tarnished over time. take that dimmer knob/slidder and go back and forth several times the friction can clean the contacts, works somtimes on stereo volume knobs when staticy. but probably the inverter, but i like to try the easy stuff first.

Do you you have a fuse in-line for the 12v? sometimes when theres a spike in power, it could do intermittent and permanent damage to the inverter. I've had that happen 2 times to me and it was the inverter.
