It will fit but your TCS light won't work because the VSA light on the TypeS is in a different spot. You're better off putting in a reverse indiglo gauge, much cheaper, looks as good as a type-s, and all the lights work.

Regular TL-P have TCS=Traction Control System

TL-S have VSA= Vehicle Stability Assist. VSA has side-slip control along with TCS.

Paul has a good pic of why TCS doesn't light up with Type-S gauge.

The indiglo you showed looks great. Is there a version for the Type S? I've never done the electrical stuff on a car yet so I don't know jack about how to install them.

35-40 buxs at procarparts.com or search for them on ebay. Install is free if you do it yourself.
Use the following link to remove the gauge cluster. http://www.acura-tl.com/faq/faq.php#8c

Then take out the glass part and slide in the indiglo gauges, just be sure not to pop out the needles or you're screwed, it hard to recalibrate some of those needles. Use the double sided tape provided to screw the gauge to the stock gauge. Reinstall. Then wire the ground, an connect the positive to #3 plug on the back of the fuse panel. Everything is plug and play. I won't recommend letting some1 else install it, they might pop the needles off.

sorry no version for TLS that I know of, you can install what I have but it will block your VSA light. It should still fit tho. I like the white face gauges on the TL-S.....keep them.

You can get the full indiglo gauge if you don't like the reverse indiglo.

Good luck getting that gauge because that's discountinued.

There was a group buy only for 50 members last year (or year before?? ) and the company only produced 50 gauges.

On a side note, don't forget that our 99 TL is a 4 speed, whereas the 2000+ TLs are all 5 speed. Therefore, if you or any one out there want the Type S gauge (or put in the reverse Indiglo gauges if you can get your hands on them) will have one non-functional "D" in your gauge - that fact in itself is the main reason I opted out of the reverse Indiglo group buy a few years ago. And of course as hzm82 mentioned, the differences of VSA and TCS will make the TCS non-functional in the Type S gauge - a definite no-no in my books if you lose the original capability of TCS lighting up on your gauge.

What i just realize is that the other difference is the red line for Type-S is 500 rpm higher. You can red line it longer.

i got a 2003 TL type S gauge working on my 2003 TL - P . I wired up the TCS light to come on with the VSA and the exclamation mark.

so you can get a type S gauge working perfectly on a non type S TL.

Through out the whole time, I thought you had Type-S, Steve.
