Post Gauge color

I test drove a silver TL Type-S with ebony interior and it had the metallic background for the instrument cluster. Does the parchment interior come with the black background? I saw the black on the acura website and prefer it over the metallic. Or do all Type-S cars come with metallic regardless of interior color? Thanks.

i believe it's the latter since the metallic gauge face is a type s specific feature.

What you saw was how the Type-S gauges look at night. The picture is out of the TL brochure, taken at night, which is misleading because you don't see the darkness outside. All Type-S models come with the same "titanium" gauges, as Acura calls it, regardless of the interior color. They are metallic/silver face with black/dark numerals during the day and black face with white/light numerals at night. Very tight and easy to read.

I've found that the display is hard to read during twilight, when the sunlight is low and you have your lights on. The background looks gray from the dim sunlight, and the numerals also look gray from the dim background lighting, even at maximum illumination.
