you said you changed your gauges from '01 SSM TL' to '03 TL-P w/ 5000kms'. That should be an even changeover...one TL-P to another. Can I ask why you would do this?

So this means that anyone can just replace the gauges and therefore reset the vehicles mileage??? That's just ridiculous... Aren't these luxury cars supposed to have some protection? I mean, luxury car's values greatly on mileage.... I'm glad I buy new, another good reason not to buy used carsd!!!

milage is logged by ECU...when you bring it into the dealer, they hook it up and you have say like 80K miles shows up and the gauge says you only have 5K miles...bam, federal crime...prison time buddy.

You will get busted when the car is inspected if its already over 2 years old as well. The mileage registered on the inspection sticker will be more than what it says on the odometer (depending on what states us this method). Also if they car is ever taken to the dealer they can tell like randomwalk101 said.
Its not worth the aggravation is you ask me.....

I think the original ,post was a call for help about a problem with a temp sensor.
UA5 you will need to verify that the wire going to the sensor underhood is in good order. The exterior air temp sensor is located below the hood latch ,it is a small usually black device about the size of a lighter. Please make sure it is actually plugged in.If it is you will need to remove the instrument panel and verify that the brown/white wire in the number 18 slot on the a connector is in good order. The a connector is the largest connector on the rear of the instrument panel. There is only one brown white wire in this connector. If this is in good order you will have to verify that the wire is good from the rear of the cluster to the sensor .If it is the sensor is probably no good.Due to the fact that there are multiple control units that depend on this signal unless you are experienced in handling delicate electronics I would advise you to refer this problem to the proper people.Jens

I dun think it doesn't matter if i change the gauges cuz everyone out there are some ppl that have changed to TL-S gauges anyway. i wanted to find some TL-S gauges as well. So does that mean everyone out there who changed to TL-S gauges will get busted? so its not just me...pls dun "YOU WILL GET BUSTED" at me...
I wish i found TL-S gauges but there wasn't any at the junk yard....and no one selling here....and none on ebay...
