Gauge cluster

I just purchased a 2003 TL-S and love it!

My only question is : Is the odometer/trip odometer portion of the gauge cluster supposed to light up when the head lights are turned on? Mine doesn't and the this cannot be read at night. I didn't know if this was normal or not.

Yes, the odometer/trip odometer and the temperature should light up with the lights on. I took mine in and there is apparently a TSB out for this issue and Acura fixed it for free. Not sure what the issue was. The same issue also affects the gear indicator when you put it into sport shift mode. There is a little black box just left of the temperature reading (on the right side of the tach guage on my TL-P) that should indicate the gear you are in.

They fixed mine, but the temp reading is about 30% as bright as the odometer, so I am probably going to have them fix it the next time I have it in the shop. Not a big deal, but my view of it is that if you fix something, fix it right, not half-assed.

I have a 2003 TL-P. I didn't ask about the TSB number. The receipt reads the following:

Cause: Clustre Lights Dim
716199 Replace Sunlight Sensor
1360WACUR

I don't think it was a sunlight sensor, since I could barely read those guages day or night. It was intermittent as well. It would be fine for a week, and then not work for 3 weeks. I have also heard of issues with a voltage regulator that could be the cause of the issue.

Or it could be the light bulbs that light it up. There are 2 of them for it.
