Gasket for exhaust manifold for CT Headers

Hi, I searched and I didnt really find anything that answered my question, so here it is...

I'm going to install CT headers next next weekend and I have all the mounting hardware, except for the gasket that goes between the engine and the exhaust manifolds. My car has 32k miles on it and it is 2000 model year.

Can I just reuse the old one? Or should I go to the dealer and have them order me a new one? I have to go there anyways b/c im getting the seating skin replaced (under warrenty )

How will I know if the old gasket is good enough to use if I do decide to reuse it? Need some advice...thanks!

I changed mine this past weekend and I ordered the new. My friend is a mechanic and he advised me to get new gaskets always when u change things like that. You won't want to do it twice. Also make sure u have the right tools and a "good" friend. I ended up doing the whole thing all by myself and it took 7 hours, no joke. If you could get an airgun, borrow one, definetly...definetly get one.

Good Luck

I just put comptech headers on my 2000 yesterday. I used new gaskets. I did the install in 3hrs by myself. It wasn't easy. I would have shot myself if after I put it together the header leaked, because you would have to take it apart all over again. Comptech headers are 1200 bucks, used they're still 400 - 600. Don't try to save 40 by resusing the old gaskets.
