Question gas-pressurized shocks

this is what i read in an article about the TL-S

"The TL utilizes a four-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension with coil springs, stabilizer bars front and rear and gas-pressurized shocks with Acura Progressive Valve technology. Improved chassis rigidity is achieved through the use of strong, isolated front and rear sub-frames mounted to the body with rubber isolators that help dampen vibration.
"

my question "gas-pressurized shocks"...our shocks have gas in em? thought we used springs...

We use both. The Shocks provide resistance to up and down "bouncing" produced by the springs when you hit a bump.

By the way - almost all shocks are gas-pressurized...

Acura R&D took a tip from Comptech and beefed up the swaybars for the TL-S. Is that what they mean when they say, "Improved chassis rigidity is achieved through the use of strong, isolated front and rear sub-frames mounted to the body with rubber isolators that help dampen vibration".

Ya think?

It might be. I was thinking that might have also been a beefed up way of saying double wishbone suspension. Who knows.

yes your right, i have read in one of the articles that the TL-S has thicker sway bars in the rear and up front, which is basically what comptech sway bars do to our TL's
