Gas guage malfunctioning
Gas guage malfunctioning
The gas guage on my 99 TL is not working right. It doesn't register full right away and then registers near empty but only takes 9 gallons to fill. Anyone else have this problem?

If you turn off the car and turn it back on, sometimes it would register 3 bars below where it was. I figured this was ludicrous, because how could a car burn so much gas right off the start up. Ever since they replaced the fuel sending unit at 5k km on the car, I haven't had a problem.

The stealer/dealer service "adviser" should be able to tell you up front if you will have to pay or not. This problem (bad FSU)was very common on the 99's, and there was a TSB sent out sometime within the first model year about it. Mine went south after about 20-25K. If they want you to pay, you could always protest and/or shop around to another Acura dealer until you get it for free - calling is cheap.

Thats why I don't fill up until the gas light comes on
