How much gas (in dollars), does the TL consume per month on an average? If anyone has some feedback, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

 

Dollar amount is difficult to say with the fluctuation of gas price and driving habits. I would estimate that I spend about $100-150 per month using premuim fuel with 75% city / 25% highway driving. This is just for me, though.

I assume you are trying to make a decision between the 99 Accord V6 and the 99 TL. Both use the same engine. Acura recommends premuim fuel because it uses higher grade components in the engine. The Acura is still a long-term better buy for things such as resale and warranty. You get out of a car what you put into it - especially a used one. Go for the Acura.

 

factor a 15% increase in gas cost going from 87 octane to 91 octane. You can be more diligent in making sure tires are inflated to the right level, keep windows up at >55mph, keep AC at 73 instead of 60, accelerate evenly so it ties out cost savings.
They are both good cars, since you are on the Acura board, you'll probably get some bias here. Most of us upgraded from Accords also, you really can't go wrong with either. I think depreciation rate is similar with the Accord. Good luck, let us know..

 

I think some crazy member (Acura3200) actually charted his gas milage for a whole year.. that can give you some idea on the gas usage per month..

Over here in the Bay Area, gas is $2.00/Gal Premium..
Costs about $26 for a full tank; usually fillup between 13-14.5 gals per fillup. Say once a week for a fillup.

4 x $26 = $104 per month on average.

So a safe guesstimate is about $125 per month.

 

I spend about the same amount.

 

Well seeing how Premium gas at Chevron in Houston, TX only runs for $1.35 and I get gas about once a week, monthly avg. cost for me is around $80/ mo.

I friend pays like $2.40/gal in SF
I pay about $1.62 for 93 octane in Jersey...
But i've been getting some ****ty gas milage, so i would average about $80/month on gas (including a monthly trip down at Atlantic City, which always more than pays for itself)!
