Question Gas

What kind of gas do people put in the TL-S? Also, how many miles do you get to the tank. My car drinks so much gas. I put Exxon Super and I have to fill up at less than 300 miles and I do about 90 % highway. I dont understand.

ANy 93 Octane will do. 300 miles is not bad... Light foot will push you into 320-370 miles easily.. Also on long trip I can hit 385+ miles.

Yup.. I agree with everything he said... any premium gas (91 or higher) will do.

I average around 300 miles per tank myself... however, that's driving around 80-90mph. If I ease up a little bit (around 70-75mph) I can get over 300 miles per tank which equals over 25mpg..... right now I'm averaging about 24.5mpg the way I drive.. so I'm happy with that....

Oh and i use Sunoco 93 octane....

Mr. ,

Do they use oxygenated fuels in NJ? Probably- it's quite prevalent in the Northeast. If so, you can count on your mileage being 10-15% lower than mine (we don't use that here).
Check the pump for a sticker next time you fill up. If it says MTBE or Ethanol or something about oxygenated fuels, that's where your mileage is going.

Yes, these fuels are a scam. They're supposed to clean the air, but don't, and yet they DO pollute the water. Nice.

I can only get up to 91 octane here in Bay Area California, and my mileage is so bad, that I never hit above 22 gpm, I average about 19 to 20, it sucks compare to the # which you reported. I did mix of highway and street driving.

I'd be lucky to get even 1/10 of that...
...and my mileage is so bad, that I never hit above 22 gpm, I average about 19 to 20...
Gee, even at 1gpm your mileage would still be bad...

Yeah, I know both were probably typos but I found them funny nonetheless, given the context of this thread.

my mileage sucks. about 200 gallons to a tank. hopefully its due to the break in, as im only at 900 miles right now. when did you guys start noticing your gas mileage reaching normal consistent levels?

Man... you guys who get less than 300 miles / tank must be gettin' on it. I thought I drove fast. I can easily get more than 400 miles / tank going 70-75 all highway. Any faster and the mileage drops off significantly. City... I average around or over 20 mpg... which usually translates into 300+ or so miles / tank.

I rarely fill it up with less than 300 miles on the trip, and I rarely put much more than 15 gallons in it. The damn fuel light comes on way too early... around 4 gallons left, and then I have to listen to my girlfriend "You're gonna run out of gas!". Give me a brake!

I get better overall mileage than my Accord V6 did, but that's because of the extremely tall 5th gear.

I can't complain... I typically use Shell 93 octane.

oh and FYI... I got 25.46 MPG last tank which was a little over 300 miles on the tank. I just filled up too... so I'll check to see how many miles I have at half a tank if I remember....

I always use Premium, typically I get a MPG in the low 20's or about 300 miles to a tank.

I just took a trip to Michigan and back, and driving at 80-90 with trips into the triple digit range I actually got 30.5 on 1 tank of all highway driving on the way there, and on the way back I got 32.5 mpg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do have the Comptech Dropin filter, headers and Iridium plugs, but I still think thats damn impressive mileage, especially at those speeds.
