Gap between bodykit and bumper

I had the dealer install the bodykit when I bought the car. However, I noticed that on the rear bumper, the underbody spoiler doesn't mount flush to the bumper. There is a small gap btw the bumper and the bodykit.

Is there anything I can do to make it flush, like using a glue gun or something? I don't want to have to take it back to the dealer and have the mess it with some more, unless that's my only choice.

Also, if I don't get it fixed, will the bumper corrode or develop mildew from the rain?

Thanks for answering my questions!

Angry THEY INSTALLED THE KIT INCORRECTLY!!!

FIRST CALL THE DEALER! THE BODY SHOP HACKED IT! TAKE IT BACK RIGHT AWAY, & GO RIGHT TO THE GM OF THE DEALERSHIP WITH YOUR PROBLEM AND COMPLAINT! DON'T TOUCH IT!! AND DON'T D*** AROUND WITH THE GUY YOU DEALT WITH THE FIRST TIME! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, AND TO LET IT OFF THE LOT LIKE THAT? THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED! SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!! THE KIT'S SIDE SKIRT SHOULD ALSO BE FLUSH WITH THE REAR FENDER WELL! NO GAPS , PERIOD!!! KMAN

err..... calm down dude. i don't know about you, but at least me, and a lot of my friends, we all have tiny gaps between the rear lips and the bumper. i have check it a lot of times and it seems to be from the poor design.... thank god my car is nbp and it's really not noticeable at all. however i have seen a wdp car and it's quite noticeable.

of course if you have a BIG gap then it's time to go visit the dealer again, but if it's small gap (by small i mean maybe you can fit your nails) then it's what i have here too. you can go to body shop and have them "welt" the lip to the bumper though it's up to you

my kit did the same, flush all around, except for rear right where it curves around. Not a big deal to me, it's a very small gap, you could probably get a dime stuck in there....

Yeah, I got the gap in mine also. How about the concern for washing and wear to the paint due to friction, since we all know how brittle the paint is

I would be completely pissed off if my body kit ends up doing the same damage the splash guards did. I would have a field day with that one

Yep, i have a small gap at the rear skirt as well. Like one of the other posts said, you might be able to slip a dime i between it. I managed to get it to fit a little tighter just by unscrewing the screws that hold the kit on around the wheel wells, and then with the palms my hands, pushing the body kit slightly outwards near either corner to take out the slack and tightening the screws again. You have to keep pressing while you tighten the screws, which isnt easy to do alone.

Maybe some double sided tape will do.

Exclamation i had a 1 inch space between

the rear and side skirt connection by the door! plus all the pits and paint defects! all you guys that can fit a dime in your gap, use some 3m molding tape, a heat gun and something heavy to lean against the spot, like a ( big dumbell, covered with a towe!) that is small potato's compared to what i've been through! my car's whole wingswest kit is being ripped off and redone again as i post! kman

I have no complaints with the OEM paint match and quality. Finish is very nice, and gap isn't worth putting any effort into. Good Luck kman

I agree with My99TL. Its fine the way it is. Looks great and the gap is so insignificant, nobody other than someone reading this thread would even really "see" it.

If the body kit has paint imperfections on it, it is very likely that the kit was originally in a different color and has been repainted with the color you now see. The OEM paint finish is usually very good because of the factory multi-coat multi-bake finishing process.

Also if our exhaust is to high how did some of you guys deal with that instead of lowering the exhust. I remember somebody using a dremel tool to cut around it. Please let me know Thanx
