Furious! I have RED overspray on my TL-S!!!
So my high school decided it needed to expand. Instead of adding more rooms, they decided to tear down part of it and rebuild it way bigger. Well, we now have a bigger school, along with a nicer parking lot, etc. Well, someone that is SO brilliant decided we needed a track.
They built the new track right beside the student parking lot. Well last year, when they "painted" the track. You know, that ugly red paint they put on them. Anyways, they did it on a windy day, and the paint got on EVERYONE'S car. They company that sprayed the track had to hire another company to set up a tent and wash everyone's car with certain chemicals to get it off. Most of the paint didn't come off, and everyone was left with red overspray. Most victims were promised to be contacted and they would reach a settlement. None have recieved any type of call, e-mail, etc.
They were finishing it up this week and told the school they would be spraying on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, they made an announcement to move your car away from the track on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, everything went as planned except the company didn't paint that day. They decided to do it today, while everyone's car was in their normal spot. No one knew that they were painting today.
So, I walk out to leave and there is RED OVERSPRAY ALL OVER MY WDP TL-S. I was pissed.
I was talking to one of my teachers who also has a 01 SSM TL w/ Navi. She had her husband's F-350 Dually that day last year, and it got on it. She said they "attempted" to get it off, but it never really came off. And if the overspray gets on plastic pieces, (mud guards, grille, area around wipers, etc.) it eventually turns white and you CANNOT get it off. You have to purchase new plastic pieces. She told me that it ruined her husband's running boards, grille, mud flaps, grille guard, window visors, sunroof visor, plastic part on the front bumper, plastic part on the rear bumper, and side mirrors.
I'm so pissed its on my car. Its not noticeable, but when you get up close to it you can see red dots all over it. If you run your hand over the paint it feels like sand paper. I don't know if I should let them try to take it off, or take it off myself. I think a clay bar will get it off, but I haven't tried yet. I don't want them using chemicals on my paint. Screw my car up worse than it already is.

Just drive down to autozone and pick up a claybar kit. Its easy and doesnt take long. Shit happens. It sucks...Bad but you can clean it off and have the WDP looking good in no time
on the clay bar. Hope it works out for you man!

I have a clay kit and clayed my car about a month ago. I just didn't know if it was safe to use on overspray. I'm gonna take it off myself, because I don't know what "chemicals" they are going to use to get it off.
Plus, I don't want them abusing my car. I hate this website. Every since I joined, no one is allowed to touch my car but me.

My god that's horrible. That company and your school is a bunch of fail. Your school is just as responsible as the company; knowing that they've had issues in the past, the school should have been on the ball with knowing when the company was going to do work and sticking to a schedule. I would raise hell. Don't do anything too drastic that would jeopardize your schooling and reputation.

yea werd because the school has to know when they are coming so it is the schools fault to come to think of it because they have to know and they could have made an announcement that you guys need to go move your car.

^ lol. I'm probably the youngest TL-S driver on AZine.
I used clay to get part of the paint off. I only did the top of the trunk, it took like an hour. A real bitch to get off.

lawyers love to make money. i'm sure if you talked to one about setting up a class action law suit representing the students and faculty you everyone could get a good settlement out of the deal.

the way this company is doing business i cant imagine they're that big or professional. that said, if they had to repaint every car in the lot, they're going out of business haha

Ok yea you are the youngest that I know of unless you consider my cousin who is 9 and she is getting her moms 09 TL when she turns 16 but you cant say its hers...
Yea go talk to your school and see what happens. Kuz like I said b4 they had to know when they where painting they just werent going to let some people come on the grounds remember ALL VISTORS MUST CHECK IN BEFORE ENTERING SCHOOL GROUNDS

We're going to wait and see what other parents do, because all the kids were pissed when they went out to their cars. And this being the 2nd time its happened, so I don't know.
