Fuel pump questions

Have a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL with 245801 miles on it! Many times in the last six months I would be driving and the engine would click and totally cut off but the electrical power would stay on. After stopping safely I would turn key to be able to put the gear shift back into park so I could try restarting. It would turn the starter just fine put no fuel going to engine. After a few minutes of shut down it would usually start back up. This happened at 70 miles an hour or 15 miles per hour.
So I purchased a new fuel pump kit and just completed that process in the trunk. Everything has been great for one week! Just happened last night. I think this is the dam fuel relay switch. This is under the drivers dash? It also has a fuse correct? Any body done this before? Let me know? Thanks

I usually want OEM (original Honda/Acura) parts, so I would check around for Honda wholesalers.
For non-Honda parts, I first check with rockauto.com.
But I successfully reflowed the solder on my original PGM-FI relay (aka Main relay), and it has not acted up for three years.

Thanks Tosh,
I may try to reflow the solder to see if that will solve the problem.

Best if you can suck out the old solder and add sufficient fresh solder to the joints.
Good luck!

I put in a new relay and it still stalled when cold, so I checked both throttle cables, they was slack in both of them so I adjusted them until snug. Maybe that was the culprit.

For problems with stalling or hunting idle speed when cold, I would look first at cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve.

I will look at that, do you have to remove the throttle body to clean it?

It's under the TB so it's easier

If there's glop enough to clog the IACV, then there's glop all inside the intake as well, so good time to clean everything.

You should check the ground cables for corrosion and/or deterioration.

If that's fine then probably ignition switch.

^ stalling only.
