Do you have to drop the fuel tank on a 99 tl to replace the fuel pump?

 

no. I cant remember off the top of my head if its accessed through the trunk or from under the back seat

 

I think there is an access panel in the trunk.

 

Just checked. Yes the access panel is in the trunk, under the spare tire. You have to remove the assembly from the gas tank and then replace the pump portion. The new pump should come with instructions. It looks like there is a length of tubing to connect up and an electrical connector.

disconnect the battery NEG terminal before working on the gas tank and pump electrical connections

what about the fuel filter,where is it located on a 00 TL?
