What's the best preventive maintenance to keep fuel injectors clean and minimize clogging up?

Most would probably suggest Seafoam or some type of fuel injector cleaner

Very true justnspace; reading gets the best of me. Premium (93 octane here in Ohio) fuel would be the best preventative maintenance.

Seafoam has stronger cleaning propeeties than detergent added premium fuel. Seafoam is a cleaner that you add to the gas tank to combat moisture in the fuel lines, free clogged injectors but not to be used more than once or twice a year.

Yeah, as mentioned previously.....use a quality brand of premium fuel,
and then perhaps adding a can of fuel system cleaner at spring and fall if you so desire.

use tier 1 quality fuel - look up stations in your area--it has more cleaners in it to combat crud from the ethanol!

you can use seafoam more than 1-2 times a year but don't need to
Add 1 can to half a tank of fuel- drive normal,
trips over 30 minutes really help it work best

if first time doing cleaner- after 2 to 4 weeks and down to half to nearly full tank of untreated fuel, add another can seafoam
now good for a year

never hurt to do 1 can to just under half tank (8gal) midyear- at oil change

ck their site for lots of good accurate info and various methods
www.seafoamsales.com

we do not have to do the vac port method if you do the can to half tank twice as described above
it gets everything when done thru the gas (except throttle air plate in TB)

Hey Justnspace*, Santa's crabs are all better now....how 'bout a little Cupidcrabber for V-day ? Where's the love ?
A bit of Seafoam never hurts and helps to fight the Ethanol deposits within our fuel systems.

Ya know that it can't hurt anything to do a little extra PM protection from those pesky crab things and stuff !!!

I would just get a bottle of Lucas Fuel Cleaner and use about 2 oz per full fill up. Works great and boosts fuel economy. I got 30 mpg going from Indy to St. Louis a few months ago at 70 mph. Pretty sweet and it keeps the injectors clean.

lucas is a good product too, use at max strength and following the directions will help remove crud buildup, I used it for years but note its directions require a few bottles, equaling the cost of seafoam at $7-10 a can
the cleaners they sell in a 3 pack- just for fuel use- well it comes with 3 for a reason

the tier 1 brand gas HELPS clean crud and keep most of it under control when used for over 5000 miles

A half can of seafoam will remove crud from intake valves and piston tops instantly when done thru master vac port at TB
Done thru fuel it gets every part all the way to the cat, and cleans it too

the main point is ethanol fuel leaves behind way more crud than old school gas
we have serious clearance issues in the piston vave area
keeping carbon buildup to a minimum is in the cars best interest
My Honda bike requires use of fuel cleaner for that same zero clearance reason
Use something!- lucas- bg44 sfoam redline is good too but use something

ck the websites for the product you like- there will be minimum and max per gal doseage listed
below a certain point its not giving effective cleaning = you are throwing money away, and above it max does no extra cleaning,,same waste

spend wildly on suspension and brakes, pinch pennies on fuel cleaner,,what a guy! (poking fun at self)
