Fuel In\

. Anyone ever do the fuel injection service, my mechanic recommended it at $69 which uses a "preasurized cleaning solvent" - is it worth it, any noticiable difference?

i wouldn't spend the money if i were you. use STP fuel injector cleaner and if you have high miles then change your fuel filter. that's just a way they rope money out of people. you can also pour some berryman's B12 chemtool in your gas tank. it's probably more potent than anything the mechanic uses.

would decreased gas mileage be a reason to change the filter? Or mainly because of sputters?

Not to turn this into a gas mileage thread...but I'm getting about 280 miles / 13-14 gallons on city miles. breaks down to about 20mpg.

if you run 91 octane per manual instructions; i don't think you need to clean your injectors. i have changed the fuel filter several times on my 92 integra and it never improved my gas mileage. i did it to prevent getting my injectors clogged.
btw, i just got the citi amex card that gives 5% cash back on all gas purchases.
my local gas station is charging less for gas on CASH purchases. with this card, im on top even with credit. .....just my

hmm, i thought honda employed external filters in addition to the sock on the pump. well either way the pump is very easy to get to. not like on a ford where you have to drop the tank....

i got fuel line service done 2 weeks ago from Lube-X. they run some quaker state formula within ur fuel line while the car is running for half an hour, and then after they throw in fuel injector cleaner in a full tank of gas.

As soon as i drove out of there my car felt much smoother, and i screeched the tires. It made a noticable power and fuel economy difference. 99TL. and normally i throw in STP fuel injector cleaner every few gas tanks as well, but this made a much bigger difference.

i would do it. if its fuel line cleaner.
