Front Turn Signal: Install and help modifying

Sup guys

well i just got some chrome apc blue bulbs for the front turn signals (if they look like crap ill get superwhite or amber or something)

but i have 2 questions

1)How do u install them (newb question)
2)i know there is a way to make them only blink, not turn on while with the fogs...but how do u do it exactly?

thanks!

edit:My friend told me to cut the power to the 2nd filament....but is this dangerous or have any of u guys done it?

1. remove the wheel well cover and stick ur hand in there or remove the bumper
2. cover one of the contacts that is used for the turning, dont cut it just incaes u want it in the future.

Get a DMM (Digital Multimeter) and check to see which contact is for fog on. This one should be covered.

You can get a 1156 for the front turn signals. Those are the exact same bulbs as the 1157(stock) but they are single filiment.

You can search ebay for these. Search for Chrome 194 and Chrome 1156/1157 which ever is for the front turn signal. I got mine at pepboys that had quite a few when I was there.

The function you lose is that the light is on all the time. The only time it will come on is when you blink.

Be careful...i crimped the wrong two wires together and blew out the turn signal stalk in the steering wheel..cost me $212 to fix at dealer.

BTW, anyone know how to get the brighter filament to light up for parking instead of the dimmer filament..I got PIAA Super Whites. I would also like to keep the turn function as stock using the brighter filament.

Hope you have small hands because its kind of tight in there after removing the wheel well covers. I remember scratching the crap out of my hands when I changed mine. Good luck.....BTW....the hyperwhites look great at night....
