Front Bumper Mesh

Has anyone cut open the center of the bumper to put on mesh?
If so was there any problems with support of front lip?

I thought about it but was thinking it would be too much, especially with my grill meshed.

Aight, I gotta get my friends digital camera. I don't have one, cause I suck. But, I'll probably have em maybe tonight or tommorow.

I had it done by a shop, cause they were replacing my stolen head lights and stuff. So they just did it as a favor for me. I had them do it cause the painted the parts that they cut too.

Yuppers. Before they did it, they warned me and said, "You need that, its for support."

So I replied, "Biotch, just cuts dat ish already."

Anyway, I really don't talk like that.

I went out to a distributor for expanded metal, and got a sheet that had a thicker gauge. It's pretty strong, it's not really flexible like the kind you can get from home depot. It supports it pretty well.

Look, I can make smiley faces.

Here I got some pics. They look a lil crappy since the paint on the mesh started to chip away these past 2 weeks. I'm gonna redo it probably this week.

It doesn't seem like all your grill matches... maybe you should get some high quality stuff online somewhere? One $40 piece is enough to do the grill and both fake fogs.

Thanks. That mesh was hard to find too. I got ripped off for it however. The expanded metal distributor had a minimum purcahse of $80. So no matter what I got, I was gonna pay that much. I couldn't gotten two big sheets of it for $110, but I got one sheet for $80.

To top it off, I only used a little bit of it. I definitely paid too much for that stuff.

one more pic.

The meshing all came fron the same peice. its just the way the sun reflects off the mesh. Remeber all 4 grills are at diffrent angles so the sun will not reflect off of all of them at the same time.

Oh yeah the name of the place I got it from was Macnichols or something like that. I'll try to find the name of it. They are located near Rutgers in one of the Brunswicks, in the industrial section.

The specialize in expanded metal and preferated metals.

Thumbs up Gutter Guard for $8.67

You don't have to cut out the plastic mesh. This sight has a how to on home-made grill. Use this advise and don't cut out your grill. The screws on the outside of the original grill and the screws from the Ac. emblem will hold the "gutter guard in place"..Will look awesome

Steps on how to make your own grill

1. buy gutter guard (6ft by 3ft)
2. take out your grill (5 screws and 2 clips in all)
3. Take out the silver frame (10 screws ) and the middle cross thing
4. Cut the gutter guard to the entire shape of of the silver frame
5. Put the gutter guard in between the the
silver frame and the black plastic mesh (you may have to trim to fit).
6. Put screws back in , watch those fingers*
7. Done, and man, it looks hot.

*the only tricky part is matching up the screws to go through the gutter guard
