No way headers can give you that much horse power. Im almost 95% positive on this. I've seen peoples dynos with I/H/E and a total of 10-13 HP gain at the higher RPM band.

Like I said before they are OBX. The only difference is this guy is offering a lifetime warranty.

I sent an email asking about the coverage and this came back...I copy/pasted the reply so read original message first.

Hi Luis,

If it breaks from manufacturing defects it will be replaced by OBX, but if it
breaks under user abuse it is denied warranty. OBX has the final word on
claims for replacements. The 99 TL header we should have in stock.

Thanks.

> Hi, I am very interested in the Headers for a 1999Acura TL, my only concern is the warranty. Does this "lifetime warranty form manufacturing
defects" mean they are covered if they crack after they are properly installed and used? I've read issues about the OBX headers that seem to last a year and then crack under no warranties.

Hi,
If it cracks from a manufacturing defect they should be replaced by OBX with
no questions asked.

Thanks.

>Hi,
I was looking for these OBX headers. Now, I don’t understand the warranty policy. I'm not in for racing nor abuse, I’d just like some extra power, what if they crack from wear? Does this fall under manufacturing defects?

As you can see, or maibe im just a dumb highschool senior, he still didnt answer the differences between manufacturing defects and driver abuse

You must be talking about a TL-P. I can personally vouch for 30+hp gains from I/H/P

How the heck do headers crack from "abuse?" Do you have to hit them with a hammer or something?

They're non-moving parts!

o...i figured it out...

From what i've read, OBX headers tend to last a short time and crack/break or something that people have to buy new ones. They dont ussualy come under warranty.

I gotta go...friday night guys...spring break...go party...

My car's a Type S. I'm not sure how you'd get 30hp on a TL-P without nitrous.

NSX4DR had one at a meet. Now's he's driving an M3 - bastard!

True, but that 32 HP increase doesnt happen till 6600 RPM...headers, intakes, and exhaust are basically worthless unless you always redline it or you have a supercharger - then they are a must. Normal driving will see virtually no improvement in HP.

This is not true on all cars, but the quality of components that come stock on our cars is quite good - so there isnt much improvement available unless you look way high in the RPM's - any normal person will hardly ever even see any improvements.

An improvement other than HP however, is the sound improvement when you add an aftermarket intake and/or exhaust. I just cant justify spending so much money on something that wont add anything unless I drive the hell out of my car.

well, isn't the point of adding engine mods to your car usually so that you can bust your engines balls, feeling that excess power being dumped into the car? Where else are you gonna get the power unless you floor it? I'm not saying its the greatest idea to spend a grand on headers either, don't take me wrong. But if I were to invest a G into 1 performance mod, you better believe I'll be flooring my shit whenever I get the chance

However...that won't be for a long while, I'm broke, lol
