Question Fog Light Lense?

I did a search on this but am still perplexed. My foglight lense is cracked (a common problem from what I've heard). I do not need or want the entire $200 housing. But that is all I've been able to find for sale. Any ideas? Thanks

You used to be able to get just the lens for $40, but I don't know what happened... Tim pulled it from his listings (my order is still not fulfilled), and my dealer doesn't even know it exists.

My suspicion is that you can still buy the lens, but it's on a huge national backorder because TL fog lenses are getting broken left and right.

I think you should all seriously concider the X-Pel kit that covers your headlights and foglights and are backed by a warranty.

My foglight cracked also, but luckily the dealer decided that it was a factory defect and is giving it to me under warranty.

Unhappy

I plan on getting the expel stuff, NOW, but I stil need to find a foglight lense. I get the feeing this is not an easy thing to locate. Its not like I need a lense for a 47' Dusenberg!! I want to fix the lense before I install the sylvania silver stars I got for x-mas.

Thumbs down

The local dealer acts like only the $200 complete assembly is available. What a joke! Im going down there after work to "persuade" them to order me a lense. Its a little bit ridiculous to have this much trouble replacing a lense which is commonly broken.

Call Park Ave Acura at 201-587-9000. Ask for the parts department. Have them look up the part # for the fog light lens and the price.

Then go to your dealer and make them look stupid.

I just hung up with park ave.(thanks for the #) Ispoke to the lady there and she quoted me $157.83 for the lense and housing. She says it is a sealed unit and must be replaced, not just the glass part, which I hoped for. I have seen posts where I thought people where replacing just the lense for around 40-50$. Am I mistaking? My fog still works but moisture is getting inside. I will replace it if the price is reasonable. But for $150 or $200 I can live with it.

no i don't tihnk you can just get the lens?!?! at least for me it was the whole think sealed, without the light bulb and stuff. i got it for 60 bucks from my dealer. i called another dealer, which said they have to order it, and the price was 50. if you take out your fog and take a look, you will notice that you can't really take out just the lens. it's pretty tightly sealed and clipped.

ok i hope this helps. just dig out my broken fogs and luckily it's still in the box that contained my new fog. so here's ALL the info that's written on the box.

33951-SOK-A11
Light Unit, L. Fog
Qty: 1 AP120

that's my drive side fog light btw. again, i got it for 60 bucks from my dealer, and i quote the price from another dealer for 50 bucks. it was almost 2 months ago. it's possible that they have raised the price dramatically coz' it's highly demanded, but i don't know...

Thanks for the info! Im going to shop around and hopefully find one for a reasonable price. If they were 50 bucks and now are being sold for 150-200 bucks (prices I was quoted) because of high demand thats a ripoff. Isnt that like price gouging or something? Anyway Acura needs to increase the supply.
