fog light hole DEPTH question

some guy installed my fog lights and they bulge out. I'm gonna get someone else to do it now.

My foglights need 4 1/2 inches of clearance. Is this even possible?

Also, some guy talked about a plastic strip you could place over the fake fog holes to make it look better. Where do i get this plastic?

Thanks!

Unless you're willing to cut some of the the radiator supports, they are always gonna bulge out.

I installed PIAA fog/driving lights on my 2001 TL by puitting them on the outer edges pf the inside grill opening and putting chrome 1/2 inch mesh over the fake air scoops on each side of the front bumper. I installed a door edge of chrome around the fake scoop hole after cutting all the "black" off that part of the scoop. It looks really great in my opinion.

How much is it bulging out? Mine is in the fake fog holes as well. Check out the pix in my website below.

Basically, there is a metal beam that is running vertically right behind the fake fog holes which you'd have to cut. Otherwise, the fogs will bulge out. Hope this helps.

The "metal bar" is actually the tip of the body frame. The portion you need to cut is so small that it is immaterial... and it will not compromise the integrity of the car's body frame.

Yes.... just like SLVR TL said there isn't really difference... Cause you're not cutting the actual frame. Look at my pic...
