Fog Bulb Replacement

I am looking to replace my stock fog bulbs with the yellow bulbs that are combined with the HID headlights on Lexus'. Does anyone know what kind of bulbs these are?

Check out site http://www.autofreak.net/lightf.html for yellow PIAA bulbs.

I order the PIAA Xtreme white for my fogs. Hope to have them this week and install this weekend. Should match my HID headlamps fairly close.

I have that installed. BTW, that's not as white as the Super Plasma.

The Super Plazma bulbs are a little brighter but give off a blue purple ish light. IMHO the Xtreme white bulbs match our HID lights better.

9006 bulbs may also be referred to as HB4 bulbs.

Those of you that have already made the change, what size arethe bolts that must be removed? I plan on putting mine in this weekend, but I need to get some tools first.

Just put mine in this afternoon. You don't have to remove any bolts and no tools are really needed. You can un-snap the splash guard and reach in and twist out the bulbs. Does help if you have ramps to drive up on.

I replaced mine with PIAA Xtreme white, but now think the PIAA Super Plasmas that someone spoke about earlier may match the HID bulbs a little better. The Xtreme whites are much whiter but still don't match the headlights exactly.

What do mean by spash guard? Also I don't have ramps, so can I still do it your way?

What about the rest of you guys?

If you look under the car there are splash panels under the card.
You can take a srewdriver and pop our the little push buttons.
You can pop them back in when finished. You can still do with out the ramps, the ramps just made it a little easier to slide under the front end. It will be obvious when you take a look.

Yes, that will fit (see at the bottom is says "9006".) But the PIAA Super Plasmas or X-treme whites are whiter but also cost nearly twice as much $.

dj5 is right. I wish I did this when I replaced mine. I feard that I wouldn't be able to get the snaps back in. I removed the 10mm screw (had to buy a new extended driver for this) and removed the whole lamp assembly. It was relatively easy but I didn't have ramps either. Still it worked out okay.

Next time, I doing it dj5's way.

Cool

I like buying stuff on the net, but didn't want to light bulbs to get bumped around in the mail. Looked at several shops for the PIAA plasma's but they all carried super whites only. Ran across these Eurolites Xenons that were only $30 a set. Thought what the heck, can't loose much if they turn out to be bummers. They were perfect! Color matches headlight exactly. Don't know what the durability will be but what a find.

The bulb size is HB4 or 9006. I got mine for $85 at a local shop.

Good luck finding the PIAA Ion Yellow. And double good luck on getting em under $100 bucks. When I picked up my car in March, the first thing I looked for was the yellow lights, to match the Lexus and the Cedes... but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it.

$100 + for a bulb or $450 for a hid kit. Hid, makes a bit more sense to me.
