Five years on a 3 year battery

Well, it finally gave up. Been starting and running fine until yesterday. Clicky-click-click is all I got. Jump it and I'm off. Put in on my charger for an hour. Then took the charger off and connected my volt meter. I could watch the count down. 12.5-12.49-12.48... 20 min later was at 11.9. Guess I never paid attention to the sticker that read 7/16. Old battery was a AAA the previous owner installed "road side". Funny, I recalled her telling me about it when it happened.

Put in another 3 year battery and a calendar event to remind me to check it.

Don't forget to check yours....

My former 2001 Accord went 2 months shy of 10-years on a Honda 100-month battery. Yeah, not unheard of to have them last longer than the warranty, but by the same token, it is more common for them to fail in less time.

Historically, mine always lasted "warranty period + 1 day".
