Fitment issue: SRI on Type-S, why?
Does anyone know why intake manufacturers are very specific to state their short ram intakes will not fit a Type-S?
I mean, why will a SRI fit a non-Type-S but not a Type-S?
Side question: I've read that Accord V6 intakes will generally fit with "some modification." What is this all about?

Have one already.
I was hoping for more of a "growl" with my CAI. In my 2000 Eclipse GT (V6) I had a SRI. I really liked the "beefy" sound it gave the V6.

My CAI came in two pieces and I use it sometimes as a SRI. AEM CAI for TLP is basically a SRI with an extention.
AEM doesn't make SRI for TLS because you don't see any gains over the stock box.
If you cut your CAI for the bypass, you can discard the bottom half and use it as a SRI, but you won't see any performance gain....not that you would have notice with just the CAI anyways. SOOO basically you can make your TL-S AEM CAI into a SRI.

TL-P/Accord V6 is 2.75 while the TL-S is 3.

Yeah, I was thinking about just cutting my CAI into a "modified" SRI. Problem is, if I don't like the sound of the "new" intake, I'm screwed. (BTW, I don't have the bypass.)
Bonus, though, is cleaning the filter will be MUCH easier.

I have both CAI and SRI, and I think SRI sounds better.
