First time Flooring the TL-S
I know the manual says 600 miles, but i couldnt help myself. So with 320 miles on the odometer, I floored it from 0-120. The pull was AMAZING (especially till the end of 3rd around 113 mph). I was wondering what was your milage when you first floored it?

I floored it for the first time when I couldn't help myself from drag racing my friend's supercharged buick. It only had 500 miles on it -- but three times before then, I had heavily laid on the gas to pass a car or two. Don't worry, once you have 1300 miles on the car like I do, you won't care anymore, cuz it'll be very well broken in. I do notice though that my front tires are wearing unusually fast -- I don't doubt it's cuz of the way I drive the car --

Jon,
I have 1316 miles or so on it to date. I can't say the car is any more responsive or faster than it was day one -- it really feels about the same. The reason I mention this is 'cuz someone said their TL-S became quicker as it broke in .. Anyways, I DO notice the HUGE difference hot and cold weather plays on the car -- I was definitely expecting the lower performance in hot and humid weather -- kinda makes me yearn for a V8 that'll perform well in many weather conditions.

It was me that mentioned the difference. I seemed to notice it at 900 or so miles. Maybe it was the fact that I stopped "babying" it, but it seemed like there was a change. It also could have been because the snow went away !
I'm over 3000 miles now, almost time for the oil change!

How sensitive is the 3.2L V6 to temperature??? My 400SE's 4.2L V8 is very sensitive to temperature. In fact, it's so sensitive that it drives like 2 different cars when the temperature is hot!! And from what I gather from MB technician, the 4.2L V8 can loose as much as 10HP/degree(Cecius..spelling?)when the engine temp is over 100C...

I'd say higher temps are more of a burden on 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder engines since they don't usually have the higher torque bands that typical V8's tend to have. However, I think V8's suffer from high temps too, most engine prefer cool, moist air (not too humid), and most tires prefer warm to very warm road temps.
