I have a lot of fine scratches all over my windshield. They are visible only if you look very close to the glass of when sun shines directly in your face. Have no idea where did they come from, maybe when I clean the glass. I thought that glass suppose to be more scratch resistnt than this. Is this normal or my glass is defective ?

 

I think those scratches is cause by the rock when you drive on the road, especially when you're driving behind any big truck.

 

I don't think they are caused by rocks. Its too many of them and some of them are horizontal and couple of inches long

 

i don't think you can scratch your winshield by using any cloths and any force. however did you use those rubber wiper from those gas station? now that could be a pretty bad idea

 

maybe the glass polish from walmart/auto stores?

 

Now that you mentioned it, I think I have those scratches too! Any way to get those scratches out of the windshield?

I used rubber wiper from gas station couple of times, but normally I clean my glass with glass cleaner and paper towel.
And it looks like that my windshield can be scratched by using just a small force
I asked couple of glass shops about getting rid of them but they said that glass will be distorted after polishing it and they don't want to do it on windshield because of safety reasons.
As for replacement I'll mention this next time I visit dealer but I don't think they will do it under warranty.
Anybody read any service bulletings about this ??

 

Go to a site called properautocare. They sell a variety of glass polishes that should buff out some of them.

 

This is a note from glass polish on properautocare.com - Glass Polish will not remove scratches or acid rain spots that have etched into the glass.
So, I don't think it will help me
